Remembering a trip to Yuma long ago with my new Fisher Gold Bug and my dog DJ looking for new areas to hunt for Gold Nuggets with a metal detector. So hop in the truck and let’s head into the desert…

Love your Stories Bill, Keep Em Coming…
Great story! I was just in Yuma for 3 1/2 months for work. I did my first nugget shooting there with my NOX 800. I was so green that I didn’t find any gold. I sure tried though. LOL However, I did collect my first treasure story. I guy saw me metal detecting and we started talking. At one point he fell silent as if he was contemplating telling me something. He eventually told me that 30 years ago he and a couple other construction workers stumbled across some gold Spanish coins while digging. His story rings true to me, too!
Nugget again…. nugget again…..👍👍👍👍👍🇮🇩 🇮🇩 🇮🇩 🇮🇩 🇮🇩 Salam…from INDONESIA.
Another great one man!! Thanks and miss campin an hearing that stuff!!!👍✌
I’m guessing you were in the Laguna hills if you found pink rocks? There has been a lot of prospecting there. It’s all claimed now
I live in Yuma and have done pretty good with my drywawher but haven’t found anything with a detector. To much trash and bullets. I’m not good with a detectors. I have a Mine lab gold monster 1000. Maybe next time your in Yuma we could go out together! I’m also a member of the SPMA club
Hello NUGGET SHOOTER!!! You are a great story teller Bro! Mabe a book is in order lol The Life & Times of Nugget Shooter even lol. Enjoyed you video keep posing and I will keep enjoying!
Thank you for the storytime! I remember those days of just having a couple books to go on. And an old miner or two. I remember one telling me…"Look at the volcanoes".
Fun stuff. Very enjoyable video! Thank you sir.
so jelous seeing all those nice detectors.wish i could affod just one to find gold nuggets but will ever be able to unless i hit the mother load
Cool Story Billy… Another cool video… You could have probably been a famous western movie star if you ever had the desire. Great expressions and very relaxing to always watch your videos and hear your stories. Thanks My Friend!
Great video and story I really enjoyed it. Keep on telling the stories of your adventures
Great story for us today Bill. What a time eh. I just thoroughly enjoy sitting here listening to your story’s. Many thanks and I will be here next post fella !
ah maybe ill find one, there were hundreds of Chinese miners in my area.
That gro pro really would have come in handy that day down there 😁 I drive to Yuma in a semi Wednesdays and Fridays and come back up 95 by the big military base and always wonder how much gold may be laying in that property 😲⛏️
That ball would have scared me too.
I recently purchased the gold monster 1000, only to realise all the gold fields around me are closed or are privately owned/leased. So I have decided to use it for coins and relics. My question is what depth do I get with the gold monster and will it pick up treasure targets good?
WOW … just another good story! LOL! Makes me wish I had started this hobby a lot of years before I did. Keep the stories coming Bill.
Story telling, one of the greatest things on Earth… I absolutely enjoy a good memory and thank you for sharing…. YES, please tell more!!! Tibbs
Chinese Ben Wah balls!
another great story Bill
Thanks for sharing your stories. I like it when someone talks about the old days.
Amazing story. Thanks for sharing. I think I would have freaked a little also on picking up that ball. Great find. You definitely need to write a book on your adventures. Take care.
Love the stories bill. Thanks much.
Ron
Hey Bill, I enjoyed your story about the Laguna Placers. I live in Yuma and have been to the placers many times. Very little luck there but I sure enjoy trying. I use a Whites MXT but I like what I see in the ML GM 1000. Keep the adventures going and best wishes for lots of gold, coins, and relics.
Thanks for sharing!
Great story really enjoyed it would love to hear more of them!
…a friend of mine found a Chinese coin and is was dated to around 1700 !!! Great video, Bill !!!!
That was a good story bill. like you said if you look you will find evidence I’m mining.and gold all the best on the next hunt buddy 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍 oh and happy 4th as well
Always good to hear the stories of tarting out.
Love hearing about your experiences..
Enjoyed it, looking forward to more. What’s amazing is how innovative prospective is i. e. Using a bicycle to construct a dry wash. Again I have enjoyed your video and as always Be Safe and HH.
I grew up in AZ, really enjoy watching your videos. I live in El Dorado county now. My neighbors know I find gold. And they tell me rumors, stories and the latest finds of other people in my area. Listening carefully, when I have heard of several rumors about an area, I know there’s still gold. Our hunting group will go in and dig up every signal. Many miles of canyons and ravines have had all of the lead and bullet’s cleaned up.
Most people don’t realize how much trash we clean up while looking for gold.
Thanks bill another great one.
Ron
Always enjoy hearing the stories regarding prospecting Bill! That Chinese medicine ball was awesome…what a cool find.
Laguna you said? As in the mountains? Old Laguna dam road?
I enjoyed hearing about your experiences in Yuma ! I hope to find a small, small place around Wittman to spend some winter months as a home base for my prospecting adventures. My wife has never seen the desert. I grew up in southern Ca. and my dad had bought a few acres around Kingman and we visited an aunt and uncles in Phoenix so I have been drawn to the desert snce I was a kid. ! Take care and thanks for sharing your knowledge on nugget detecting. Wishing you continued success with lots of color !
I hope you continue to tell us your gold digging stories
Great story and really cool Chinese bell!

Bill – Loved the story and hope that you tell more in the near future. Just an additional feature to look forward to watching in an already Outstanding Channel. Thank You!
the day I left Yuma in 79 or 80, it was 122 degrees…good lord
I live in Yuma. Was stationed here in the marines and decided to stay. I found an old Mexican style spur when I was working at Yuma proving ground. Was pure luck finding it
I really enjoy these story’s you have to share and I think a lot of other people do as well.
Cool story and bell 😉
I enjoy your stories Bill! Is that site near a railroad? Didn’t the railroad have lots of Asian workers back in the 1800s?
Great story. Those old timers had some life. At least we can relive them some of them with your oral tradition of story telling. I would love to see the Yuma area someday. So what ya think of the price of gold hitting 1400$, I don’t think it will be long before 2k and 5k were it should be. They can’t keep it down forever. Oh yeah and someday metal detectors will be worth their weight in gold. ha ha. Stay safe on that border brother. Much luck to you..Cheers……. Oh yeah who’s the morons with the thumbs down? Must be jealous
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful memory !!
Always good to hear interesting storys !
