Don’t ever buy those bounty hunter metal detectors. They literally go off when you swing them in the air over your head. Spend another 50$ and get a really useful metal detector, like a Minelab Vanquish 340. They are only like 150-200 (or used to be before all this great inflation we are experiencing) and you will have a real metal detector that won’t constantly give false signals. And on a side note they are one of the only cheap metal detectors that will work at the beach with all the salt and mineralization (again without going nuts and giving constant false signals like the majority of other detectors do unless you completely dial their sensitivity back which causes you to loose all of your depth). The Minelab Vanquish 340, 440, and 540 are more affordable versions of the Minelab equinox in my experience. They operate very similarly, aside from the huge benefits of the Equinox being waterproof. And to be clear I have messed with all sorts of metal detectors, started with a bounty hunter just like these jokers and immediately sold it, have used Garrett, White’s (actually make a pretty decent machine also, found alot of cool stuff with my first Whites machine), Nokta, fisher, and Minelab. I will always stick with Minelab detectors. One of the few detectors that can actually find targets around a old cellar hole that is littered with nails and debris in the ground and not constantly make noise that sounds like a Canadian goose.
