DON’T YOU GUYS DARE CLEAN THOSE COINS!! That is not tarnish!! That is toning!! You clean them and they lose great value.

  4. Randall Smerna on October 12, 2021 at 3:15 pm

That stash wrapped in a blanket isn’t that old. Of course some of the items in it are old but that buffalo coin is minted in 2001.
There’s no way that blanket, The paint on the shovel, the wooden handle, the leather sheath would have lasted 50 years…

  5. Stephen Morris on October 12, 2021 at 3:17 pm

  24. ProudVirginian on October 12, 2021 at 3:38 pm

Maybe it was buried by someone before going off to war and either didn’t come back, didn’t remember, never got the chance, or just didn’t care anymore. It would have been pretty rugged out there in the 40’s.

  25. Anthony Wachira on October 12, 2021 at 3:39 pm

well, you know it was a prospectors cache from the turn of the century by the coins, the knives and the afgan. the little jar was already opened when you found it, so it had already been discovered and maybe transported to this site, and buried again sometime after the 2nd world war. it makes sense to leave your trench shovel and pick gear behind if you are heading into town to cash out a few coins for supplies, no sense carrying everything with a load coming back already. it might have been the source of one of the mysteries about them there hills, a cache of silver coins never revealed. fun stuff.

Try to keep the metal detectors as close to the ground as possible when swinging them. They don’t have long ranges and you are losing a lot of their range holding the coil 6 inches above the ground.

  39. Seth Koukol on October 12, 2021 at 3:59 pm

Probably an illegal immigrant’s stash from the 50’s. They reached I70/Highway and was worried about getting caught or companions were being rounded up so he quickly buried his loot. Never to return.

  47. kik Urass on October 12, 2021 at 4:06 pm

This looked completely set up, I don’t care what anyone says, that rug being so close to the surface would have rotted away years ago. Also, tanned or not, the leather sheath would in no way present like new, then the knives aren’t tarnished. The leather pouch would be brittle from exposure, it would literally fall apart, NOT still be pliable like it was tanned yesterday. The whole video pangs of faux!

  48. Randall Smerna on October 12, 2021 at 4:07 pm

The paper dollar bill is called a Silver Certificate. It was back by a dollar’s worth of silver walked away somewhere when we were still on the gold standard. If I’m not mistaken it’s got a blue seal stamped on it.

  49. Judah ben Liberty on October 12, 2021 at 4:07 pm
