Actually just before you found it I asked the same question and got the same answer. It was a Santa Fe Trail Marker. But I knew different. and then you find the pillar. This really fits in with the tower in rhode island and the mountain in Michigan and a marker in Washington State all believed to be property markers for a land grant given to the Templars in the 1300’s for their role in pushing the Moors out of Europe and eventually onto ships bound for this land grant. Maybe when France stabbed the Templars in the back, they stole this land grant. Who knows history is so murky. I imagine those stones are property markers for a giant kingdom with detailed markers laid on distinguishable geographical fearures such as mountain tops ….sea shores …etc. Probably between 1100-1300s. It would make sense the masters did not come home…and someone else claimed it with the permission of the Pope….the beneficiary bieng England and France. Just guessing but it would help explain many descrepancies in our past.
