Treasure Hunting – Arizona Wash For Gold Nuggets

Treasure Hunting – Arizona Wash For Gold Nuggets

In this my 201st metal detecting movie, its time to break out the Nox 600 and hit a wash behind my old friend Jim’s place. He says there should be Gold there. We’ll pick some oranges and Jim will show me some of his coin collection and share a cool story about finding a Gold coin. Digging in Arizona is not easy nor is it profitable. I love me a good detecting adventure though and the scenery here can’t be beat. A huge THANK YOU to all 7000 supporters of Unfrequented World. Thanks For Watching.

I think there could be gold there, but you have to remove some of the sediment-dirt and get down to bedrock and then detect.

That may have been a survey-pin.

That wash looked so promising! especially that 7′ drop. I’d dig a little deeper there. Multi frequency should work, but if you can, you should experiment with the highest frequency. listen for those faint threshold breaks. I’d imagine nuggets would hit like tin foil. Good thing you didn’t find any, you might not go back to the arctic. Lol

Do you do your homework to make sure the washes you are in are not in somebody’s claim? To see a wash and decide to detect it might be claim jumping. HOw do you get around that??

If you don’t have the 6” coil yet, you should buy one. I got one for my 800 and it’s a big difference for gold. Let’s go detect some gold sometime! I live in New Mexico.

Since you’re currently in Arizona, do some research into the superstition mountains. I think you’ll find the history of the area and the mythos surrounding it quite interested.

If gold was easy to get we would all be rich! I think those were claim stakes. Fun video.

by the way, your first two mystery items look like fragments of a bullet. You said it was heavy, like lead. Are you sure it is not lead? Looks like the way a bullet would peel back when it hits the desert floor or rocks. Hunters hunting rabbits or something, and that could be a fragment. Just a thought. πŸ™‚

I have noticed for 100+ targets one might be a nugget if you are in a gold bearing area …. But to find nuggets you need to study the topography and it has to be known and documented to be there ….. Coins used to be gold back in the day until the government decided to take the gold from us and give us paper instead ! ….. Cool video …..
