TOP 10 PLACES IN UTAH | (That Aren't National Parks)

In this video I break down my top 10 favorite places in Utah, one of the most diverse, adventurous, and beautiful states in the countries. Filled with snow capped mountains, deserts, waterfalls, canyons, salt flats, and more, Utah has so many hidden gems. So much so that there is an endless amount to explore even past all of the national parks, which is why in this top 10 you won’t see any national parks featured!

How’d you like I70 Eastbound approaching Black Dragon Canyon?

  2. James Nielson on May 29, 2021 at 5:13 pm

Nah, Utah sucks. Everyone disregard this video and stay out of the state😉. But seriously, also amazing… Timpanogos, Pineview, the Uintahs, Bear Lake, Cascade Springs as well as the hundreds of trails along the Wasatch front.

I can always tell when someone is not from Southern Utah. They don’t say it right. It’s really pronounced Hurricun.

The Curtis Formation overlies the Entrada, forming the greenish-gray
caprock on the buttes east of the parking area. This formation takes
its name from Curtis Point in the northern part of the San Rafael Swell.
Fossils in locations outside the park show that the sandstone and siltstone comprising the Curtis was deposited in an ancient (Late Jurassic)
sea. The greenish color comes from minor amounts of glauconite, a
mineral that contains iron and forms in modern ocean sediments. The
presence of glauconite in the Curtis Formation is significant because it
further supports the idea that this rock unit was originally deposited in
an ocean or sea. Another prominent feature of the Curtis Formation
rock layers is the undulatory surfaces of small parallel ridges and hollows, called ripple marks.
The type of ripple marks (see figure) displayed in the Curtis suggests that at least parts of this area were once a
    beach of this ancient sea.

I reeeeally want to watch the video, but I was queasy after one minute. I subscribed anyway….. seems like great content. I think there are methods that youtubers have to shoot and edit drone videos so that the viewer won’t get seasick/carsick.

Thank you for sharing loved it

It is videos like this that have caused my state to be overrun with insufferable Instagram tourist. The national parks are bad enough with all of the crowds. Now you want to send them to destroy the rest of the state? Boo! Thumbs down!

  8. eli imperio on May 29, 2021 at 5:24 pm

    Nice place, new sub here..

the white line is the Bonneville shoreline

There is dozens of cinder knolls (volcanoes) in Washington county alone.
Hurricane has three. And molly’s nipple, the mountain that looks most like one, is NOT a valcano.

    Bonneville => Bon uh ville

  14. 09cuni on May 29, 2021 at 5:34 pm

So ironic that the most natural places on earth have become the center of attention of the most unnatural people on earth (i.e. instagram culture).

  15. 5yearsout on May 29, 2021 at 5:35 pm

The tough part of making this list is figuring what spots to leave out, you are correct that it is an extremely environmentally diverse place to explore.

  16. Buford ButtFish on May 29, 2021 at 5:36 pm

#2 – Snow Canyon: Continue N on Highway 18, up to Veyo; "turn right at the light on the telephone pole" (no joke), going toward Pine Valley. They a campsite area, with a small lake, with trout fishing, hiking to the surrounding mountain peaks for a panoramic view of the VALLEY. Heaven is so peaceful there.

Kanarraville has a great rock slide, too! Love this video!

  18. waywardmuse on May 29, 2021 at 5:37 pm

Great footage and tips – especially like the fact that you make this video about THE PLACE and not about you! Keep it up!

  19. Melissa Flores on May 29, 2021 at 5:37 pm

So beautiful thanks for the great tips!

  20. Photo Trekr on May 29, 2021 at 5:37 pm

Lived there for 7 years… I love Utah and the people. Lived, loved and still loving it..

  22. 9teen6tea4 September on May 29, 2021 at 5:38 pm

The only thing that is missing is the ocean. The beach. They call the lakes beach which is pathetic. Otherwise, the rock formations and mountains are stunning. Picture perfect.

You forgot monkey mnt. its in southwest Utah. where the air force would test crash helmets by launching them down a ramp. after they were done "testing" most monkeys didn’t survive and the floor of the mnt is covered with monkey bones. it a creepy hike, but one that will get the goose bumps.

  25. AKPete on May 29, 2021 at 5:40 pm

I can tell he’s not a local because of how he pronounced the cities and parks, but that okay 😉 Be-UTAH-ful!

  26. Les Bouma on May 29, 2021 at 5:42 pm

Awesome. Headed there in 2 weeks.

  27. atrain84 on May 29, 2021 at 5:42 pm

So glad none of this is just hitting places in or around SLC.

  28. Jordan McKee on May 29, 2021 at 5:44 pm

I would STRONGLY recommend checking out Dinosaur National Monument, Red Fleet, Flaming Gorge Resovoir, 9 Mile Canyon, and the High Uintahs In northeastern Utah. Incredible locations with strong contrasts between high mountain and desert formations. Fantasy canyon there is intriguing as well. Duchesne and Uintah Counties are secret gems in Utah for sure.

  29. jacqueline schael on May 29, 2021 at 5:45 pm

Fantastic job, Kevin! Thanks for the great ideas!

What areas of the badlands do you recommend for a day trip to see the rock formations? Like a good location/trail to start the journey

  34. James Aldrian on May 29, 2021 at 5:50 pm

Goblin, the earth was flooded(its in the bible) and those are the remainder of giants. Everything turns back to stone or dust. Literally everything. I can show you a tank from ww2 that is half stone half tank. Get on google earth and look around and you will discover faces. According to the book of enoch(which the bible quotes in the book of Jude) it states that the giants were 3000 ells tall. How many ft is 3000 ells? According to google 11,250ft. I’ve found giants spanning entire states and continents. But im sure you’re just gonna mock and call me crazy so this is where I say cheers. Open your eye…. and i mean your pineal gland

  37. john whitworth on May 29, 2021 at 5:55 pm

  38. milleadh on May 29, 2021 at 5:56 pm

  39. utahpunk on May 29, 2021 at 5:56 pm

Hit a few of my favorite spots, but left out a few that I might put on my own top 10 list. Excellent video.

  41. Jerry T on May 29, 2021 at 6:02 pm

Thank you a lot Kevin for introducing these wonderful places. I really like the view of Monument Valley at 10:37 in the video. It looks like John Ford’s point, but not the same. Where is it?

  42. JAJ W on May 29, 2021 at 6:02 pm

Utah has a lot of hidden gems. I love living here, we plan all our vacations in state. I love your pics and descriptions, but it’s very obvious you are not a Utah native by the way you pronounced "Kanarraville", "Hurricane" and "Zion".

  43. Nyall London on May 29, 2021 at 6:02 pm

I enjoyed the video. Question, do they allow you to fly drones in Utah State Parks? I would love to go back to the Pink Dunes and fly my drone. Awesome video.

Utah looks like a bunch of bad farming practicing …. Exactly what we are doing now .. trash the upper layer of soil and make the land drain quickly

  47. Gerald King on May 29, 2021 at 6:05 pm

Utah has "hidden gems," but I’m going to f@ck that up with more self-promoting, brain dead videos to stampede the brain dead down on top of them. UTAH, LOVE IT AND LEAVE IT ALONE.
