These Pools Help Support Half The People On Earth

What are these electric blue ponds in the middle of the Utah desert? And why do they keep changing color?

Join Derek Muller (Veritasium) as he looks into the weird, bizarre, and seemingly inexplicable images found on Google Earth to discover what on Earth they actually are. It’s a travel vlog, documentary, and science show wrapped into one. It’s Pindrop.

In the beginning of the video, I was thinking "Saltpetre", when he was asking what they could be used for. Then he was saying potassium, and I was all confused. Didn’t realize saltpetre was a form of potassium.

How does the evaporation effect the weather system? Wouldn’t evaporating that much water change the weather?

But despite how important fertilizer is countries are outlawing it due to the lies regarding "climate change"…

Here in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, our forests and lakes are mineral deficient due to acid rain. We have a program that collects wood ash from homes and the ash is spread in the forests near water bodies. I spread mine on my lawn and forest areas, which are next to a large lake.

Harvesting potash by mining doesn’t seem infinite. This is a non-renewable resource.

Before watching the video or reading any comments:

I think these are like bacteria/ microorganism farms. There’s lots of bacteria and algae that are vibrantly colored. Some of them can create medication, make fertilizer, or balance the contaminants in your fish pond.

So yeah my guess is some type of microorganism farm.

There’s some similar looking ponds in Southeast florida, just west of Miami, that I always wondered about and thought this video may be referencing.. but turns out those are just limestone quarries lol
