There Are Secret Tunnels Near Ogden Canyon Waterfall

There Are Secret Tunnels Near Ogden Canyon Waterfall

An acquaintance told me about some tunnels near the top of the Ogden Canyon Waterfall in Ogden, Utah and I wanted to check them out, so I did. They had dug them as part of the Pineview Water Pipeline Project. They’re kind of creepy, but make for a fun hike. This was a great place to explore. My other goal was to get to the top of the waterfall, which I did. Enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

@3:08 Your perception of reality changes 4ever !
What you are looking at is a giant ancient piece of machinery. You can actually see the chain that drives the gears up on the left. Down on the right is the other end .

If you park at the trail head right outside the canyon entrance, there is also a trail that leads to the top of the waterfall

  11. bobby james on October 15, 2022 at 3:00 am

Dude you’re going the wrong way drive out of the canyon park next to the bathrooms there’s a nice beautiful trailhead lead you straight to a dirt road that you can drive on if you had the key to get to right to the waterfall

Back in the 70’s, there used to be some hot springs very near there on the other side of the road right next to the river. Someone had taken time to build some pools out of rocks and concrete. Spent a lot of time there on Friday nights in the winter. Wonder if they’re still there ? Oh… when I was a teen, you could ride a motorcycle to the falls. Access was from a trail near the dam. The pipe line was not cemented in until the 1980’s. The boards were a walkway on top of the wooden pipeline. And, you can drive just about all the way to the falls from the other side… except the gate is probably locked and marked No Trespassing. As kids, that was just an invitation to come on in. Ah…. and at the end, you confirmed that the hot pots are still there.

That trail you went up actually was a road that bulldozers pulled cement trucks up when the pipe line was being replaced.

    A response from the Netherlands:
I walked the pipeline there in 1974, with the maintenance engineer.
The pipeline was then mainly made of wood and twice a week the technician walked over the pipeline.
Where it leaked, he hit a wooden wedge in the pipeline.
We also walked through those tunnels along the pipeline.
Nice to see what it looks like now.
Regards, Wilfred de Bruine from Holland.

You went the hard way. If you go over by the dinosaur park there are some trails off to the right as you exit the canyon. You hike up those foothills and you’ll eventually hit a grated road that wraps around it’ll take you to where the water comes out. You can climb up inside where the water comes out, its really cool. Then you can find those tunnels. There’s a little building up there too.

Unforgiveness leads to anger, bitterness, hate, unrest, sadness… Forgiveness leads to joy, peace, self awareness, true love, selflessness, truth, and freedom. Jesus loves us all and wants to have a intimate relationship with us. Let’s all spend time with Him, repent daily, and love one another. Jesus is coming soon and let’s be prepared for His Kingdom. God bless you all on your journey in Jesus name.

If you go into the tunnel on the furthest west part of that water tube, you can climb over or under it and go out onto a ledge that overlooks the canyon

little peace of mind for the future. if you don’t see ‘no trespassing’ signs, the worst they can legally do is ask you to leave.

I think the purpose of the wood is to soften the blow from large rocks/boulders so they have a lesser chance of breaking the concrete.
