I checked this place out couple years ago. I was hoping to find other kinds of rocks and minerals. I think I found a piece of jasper, but I didn’t care too much for trying to find anything. The soil was too hard to dig through. I actually prefer going to southern Illinois to collect fluorite, because I’m guaranteed to find something there, plus you can make a profit off of it

What’s saddest though… is outside of an industrial application… gold, platinum, iron, silver, copper, diamonds, opal, emerald, and every other pretty shiny piece of rock… is COMPLETELY… WORTHLESS… without people saying it is worth something to them. The problem is not the diamonds… it’s the people. The people in Africa enslaving other people for the sake of being the exclusive seller of worthless rocks to make other foolish people give them equally worthless pieces of paper, cloth and plastic so they can stockpile those worthless pieces of paper, cloth, and plastic so they can trade them to other fools foolish enough to give their wares, time, and services away; essentially for free as the paper, cloth, and plastic is indeed worthless; to the fools giving them these worthless scraps of stockpiled literal garbage.

I would like to find some diamonds, but I wouldn’t sell them, I’d get them cut and set in jewelry that I can pass on to my kids some day

I went there and collected dozens of not-so-precious stones! When it rains, the area is untenable…turns into a knee-deep mud field!

    Are they gem quality?

  38. xxxx85 on January 30, 2021 at 7:55 am

Apparently it’s a myth that industrially made diamonds aren’t as pretty as natural ones, perpetrated by the dutch diamond monopoly company (can’t remember the name). People are aware of this, but the natural diamonds are still the ones with value.
So, just a silly thought, what would happen if someone went to this field with 10,000 industrially made diamonds and just scattered them into the dirt, and the plowing machines plowed them in…. Would the diamonds from this place just become worthless?

  39. Røs3 on January 30, 2021 at 8:00 am

My cousins live in a trailer around there and go there occasionally and found a diamond worth 600 dollars 💵

If dogs can be trained to sniff out drugs, cash, bodies, chemicals etc., why not diamonds? Get a Bloodhound. 🙂
