The 'white gold rush': Inside a lithium mine, where stores of recyclable energy lie | Nightline

So this video turned out to be about a flower? You liberals amaze me. As long as children in China are producing your products, you don’t care. As soon as you realize that there a consequences to every action, opps, there is an issue. All I have to say is that America is screwed now because of your way of thinking. We can do things safely for the environment and move forward. Instead, they will spend 20 years trying to get that mine open and millions of dollars. By the time it opens, lithium will no longer be needed. The entire world is passing us up and you are worried about a flower. God save us all!

LOL – “recyclable” energy? LIES. Rechargeable energy, yet Lithium batteries 🔋 do NOT have a recycling process. Lead Acid batteries are recyclable though.

Lithium is used in the storage of electricity; it’s not a source of energy. Generally burning fossil fuels, often coal, generates electricity.

biggest load of bollocks since they said smoking was safe. lithium is a small part of a massive environmental catastrophe making these batteries. cobalt is far worse, toxic and biggest deposits in the most unstable countries in the world.

Why can’t the miner raise a few thousand Tiehm’s buckwheat plants in a nursery? This seems like a poor balance of costs and benefits.

  38. Dan Birch on June 28, 2021 at 8:31 am

Gold $1,850 per ounce, lithium $26.50 per ounce.

  39. Bryan de Paepe on June 28, 2021 at 8:32 am

So CO2 is a greenhouse gas the world is trying to cut back on by releasing another greenhouse gas that is 10 times worse? Water vapor is much worse than CO2. Every green energy device relies on lithium batteries that only last several years depending on the number of charge cycles used. What are we going to do with all these dead batteries in 10 years? They’re toxic so they can’t be landfilled, they’re expensive and energy consuming to recycle.

All for fossil fuel style technology inovation derailment 2.0… LITHIUM. And YOU the people have to sit around WAITING like fools for your LITHIUM battery EVs to charge… It just so happens.
