He said essentially, this water was deep underground doing nothing, but we are taking it, exposing it and evaporating it away to obtain a useful resource; which had nothing to do with how the process could be leaching salts or other compounds into the environment

Then studies are undertaken, forms are filled out, multiple levels of government permissions are sought, but still one person is not happy and permits stay frozen for the next 15 years. It’s possible to do ESG mining without destroying the environment, but in terms of legislation efficiency US resembles the Soviet Union in the 1970s in many ways and no wonder most US mining companies go to South America or China or elsewhere in the world to work.

This is the hypocrisy of the so called Renewable Energy sources powered by batteries. Politicians tell people to make changes in their lives to save the planet, while mining companies like this are making billions of dollars from lithium ponds which are destroying the environment. Read about cobalt mines in the democratic republic of Congo, where child labour is used to extract cobalt which also powers your laptops and mobile phones. The level of destruction to the environment in those cobalt mines are unbelievable. Yet Politicians turn a blind eye to all that while promoting the so called ârenewable energyâ which is mostly powered by batteries made from lithium and cobalt.
