The Searchers-New Mexico True Stories

The Searchers

The treasure is still out there, but can you find it? Forrest Fenn, the Santa Fe collector who hid the thing thinks the clues he left in his poem “The Thrill of the Chase” lead right to it. But finding the gold isn’t what it’s all about. It’s about venturing out and seeing parts of New Mexico you might otherwise miss. In some ways that might be better than gold!

"There’s one thing I told you that I wish I had not" — and yet this interview is heavily edited. Is the raw footage anywhere, unedited and uncut?

FYI "The man who found a buried chest that had enraptured scores of treasure hunters for a decade has revealed his identity. His name is Jack Stuef, and in June, he found the treasure famously buried by author and retired art dealer Forrest Fenn somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, with a poem from Fenn’s memoir, The Thrill of the Chase, offering clues to its location."

How do we know it hasn’t already been found? If he never checks on it to see if it’s still there (he hasn’t said whether he does or not, but I doubt he does because he’s probably conscerned with the possibility of people following him), it could very well be gone by now and everyone will just keep searching haha

I see this was posted in February, anyone know the date of the actual interview from this video?

  13. Emerald Green on August 10, 2022 at 5:07 pm

It belongs to the person or persons who find it. You can’t claim it, till you find it. I know if I go to search for it, I’m carrying a gun so no one will try to rob my ass.

  19. AliciaCCTX on August 10, 2022 at 5:13 pm

I need to know when this was filmed.  He said the treasure is wet.  This was released in February but when did he actually say the words.  Must check weather patterns!

  20. James Infante on August 10, 2022 at 5:16 pm

He should have buried it on Oak Island. Those ding dongs would never find it while looking forever for it.

The Chase will end by May of 2017… on Forrest’s friend’s Ranch near Santa Fe.

  30. Music Fiend [LOE] on August 10, 2022 at 5:29 pm

I admit his life sounds like so much fun compared to mine I’d love to just sit and talk about the amazing things he’s found over the years I’d love to have gone on adventures like him. lived in new Mexico my whole life and honestly the only thing that is good is the scenery I hope he will live the rest of his life full and happy with no regrets.

  31. Jared Maher on August 10, 2022 at 5:32 pm

Hey guys. Sorry to say but I have found the treasure. Wasn’t quite valued at 2 million dollars today but it has managed to pay off my debts and was really not that hard to find. I’m keeping it quiet to protect my identity but I wanted to let anyone watching this that you shouldn’t bother looking.

  32. Frodo on August 10, 2022 at 5:34 pm

At the end of the interview he said "I know the treasure chest is wet". Ive heard statements to the contrary. And Mossy said he retracted the Pinon statement. ?????? If searchers can’t trust what he has said how can the poem be trusted as the pathway to the "treasure chest". If he keeps changing the path through his inconsistent dialogue how can it ever be found? IF, it can ever be found. IF it even exists. One of the most telling things he says is part of him wants it to be found and the other part, not so much (paraphrasing). It will never be found. Its become a convoluted exercise in searching for ghosts. Sadly, people have spent a lot of their hard-earned money in pursuit of the wealth reportedly in the chest. He doesn’t want it found, it will never be found.

  33. ClassicFrank on August 10, 2022 at 5:34 pm

What if his treasure IS the desert, and he just wants people to have an adventure!

Everyone is talking about Forrest’s comments about the chest from his New Mexico True Story video posted yesterday 2/4/15.

But NOBODY has mention a new and HUGE addition to this chase.

At the 1:40 mark there is a VIDEO of the CHEST?!!!

What?! Where did this video come from? How come it hasn’t played before?
Now I’m going to mention something. The video, why were "effects" added to it.
I have been around the making of both motion pictures and animation. The movements of the camera resemble more of an animation!!!
Let me rephrase that, from what I just watched, from my experience and best professional estimate is a animation, not a live action camera movement. So….it could very well be…the pictures we’ve had of the chest this whole time were a 3D rendering.
Could it be real with a steady cam or dolly? Yes, of course.
Yet why does the wood look "fake." Why add in effects? Where has this video been?
NOBODY EVER does one take. Where are other footage of the chest???
Again and again, I have asked Forrest to come forward with a NON-STAGED picture of the chest. Still nothing. Makes you wonder. Instead of going over what Forrest said, maybe we need to look closer at this video.

  36. Mossy Hollow on August 10, 2022 at 5:37 pm

Fenn retracted the "Pinon nut (or pinyon)" comment. That would have narrowed it way down. He said there are no clues in this video.

  37. James Infante on August 10, 2022 at 5:38 pm

Forests, mountains, animals, it’s wet, the smell of sagebrush and pinyon nuts… hmmm. Which of these things he wished he hadn’t said?
