This movie was a great way to share a relevant Gospel to my 5 year old son. He had very mixed emotions after viewing this film. At the age of 5 visuals have a profound effect on a young psyche. God gave Solomon a gift of wisdom for which he was world renounce. After gaining everything his heart desired, his observation was, vanity, vanity, all is vanity. The only thing he felt had real value was a true relationship with Yahweh, loving family, hard work and a good name.
I explained that when Adam rebelled against Jehovah in the Garden of Eden, his spirit died instantly but his body lived another 900+ years. God placed a death gene in every living thing that He had created. Science has attempted to understand why we start aging and the natural dying process. They cannot and will not be allowed to override God’s judgement of death. The billions of dollars spent on reversing this process will continue to fail. We are learning ways to improve our health and live slightly extended heathy life spans but that’s it.
I found it easier to explain how God loved us so much that he became flesh through a chosen human female who was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. The sin nature is passed on through the male because God held Adam responsible for the sin of rebellion in the Garden. Eve was deceived but Adam knew what he was doing. God became flesh so He could be tempted in every way as we and yet lived a perfectly obedient life. He chose to die as the perfect and unblemished “Lamb of God” that takes away the sin of the world through His shed Blood on the cross. He rose on the third day and became the second Adam to redeem the world. Identifying Jesus as the true reason for hope gave a special meaning to the story a he asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior that evening. He called as I started writing this comment and I told him what I was doing. He remembered and thanked me for making Jesus Christ of Nazareth so understandable that evening.
The first and third chapters of the Gospel of John (kJV) clearly identifies the Deity of Messiah and God’s exclusive and loving plan for redemption and salvation. My name was written in God’s Lambs Book of Life on June 27,1960 at 7:30pm when I recognized I was a sinner and Jesus was my only hope of eternal redemption and salvation. I received Messiah’s free gift by faith as both of my sons had done. They are both serving the Lord to this day.

When I was kid all I ever wanted to be was a dinosaur, but my father told me what the fuck are you doing! You aren’t a fucking dinosaur. So I became an accountant. I tried to be a dinosaur the other day but I forgot how. I guess what I’m trying to say is, "get up there there and play those fucking drums Dale." "you play the shit out of those drums!"

G morks speech is one of the most true things I ever heard. People without hopes and dreams are easy to control. And whoever has the control has the power. Hope and imagination are key to fulfilling dreams

This is the first time I’ve watched this movie from end to end since I was really small. I didn’t understand what was going on, I didn’t even know the name of it, and I’d almost forgotten it, but a few fragments remained, and I couldn’t resist revisiting this beautifully quirky masterpiece. I absolutely love it. <3

Flashback to Popcorn Day at school. Getting to watch this movie with classmates and a small bag of popcorn and a pickle were the best.

I think what makes this movie work is there’s weight to the characters. They actually have some dimension which is lacking in most kid’s movies. Also there’s some dark stuff in here and the filmmakers agreed that kids were tough enough to deal with it. Death. Overwhelming dread. Kids are tougher than we give them credit for. Great kid’s movie.

Anyone here remember an old fantasy movie where the theme is masquerade costumes related. Theres 2 kids a brother and sister who travel or dream the same dream. They are in a row boat? And glide slowly past people in masquerade ball clothing and masks. And in the end of the movie they climb a ladder and wake up back in their own house? Been trying to find the movie for years.

I cannot express anything I want to sufficiently enough … this movie ( the book was bad ass too) the song was awesome…..the nothing was described as; when you look at it, you feel like you’re blind…. the part about reading about yourself… this movie was all just the first 4 chapters or so… the tarded 2nd movie was a failure of chapter 8 or 9 i cant remember.
