Welcome, and thank you for stopping by our channel!
Shot almost entirely in 4K! …so turn up those video settings!

On this channel we go deep… REALLY deep into abandoned tunnels and mines all throughout the western United States. We researched some of the harder to find mines and hike back into them to explore and reveal their hidden secrets. Some of these remote locations are filled with cool artifacts, antiques and unique geology that will have you guessing as to why the old prospectors worked so hard to find gold, silver and other minerals.

A&FP moves just a bit slower. We discuss why the miners chose these sites and we try to point out the geology and minerals that got them excited. Veins of quartz filled with gold and silver made many men loose sleep in the 1800’s and early 1900’s and modern prospecting still does to this very day.

Dangers? Oh yes, there are allot of dangers associated with old mines. Un-exploded dynamite, blasting caps, bad air, bats, spiders and snakes all find there home in abandoned mines, shafts and tunnels. Oh, and let’s not forget rotting timbers, flooding and collapsing rock!

We take abandoned mine exploring seriously with all the proper safety equipment, training and experience necessary to do this activity as safe as possible but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun along the way. “Gly” and his band of crazy characters “Old Bob”, “Quackers” and “Bobbie” are sure to brighten your day with there comments and silly antics. Heck, they may even give you a chuckle or two.

Just like Saturday morning cartoons before the internet was invented, Abandoned and Forgotten Places uploads each Saturday at 7:00AM PST.(that’s 10:00AM for you eastern folks) so don’t forget to click that bell icon to receive notifications of new episodes!

P.S. Please LIKE, SHARE and SUBSCRIBE! Your support helps us find new locations and helps put fuel into “Old Bobs” tank. Old Bob thanks you!

Ok, now for the ugly stuff…

If you think these mines are amazing check out the Great Orme Mine. It was found 30 years ago when they were building a parking lot. Turns out the mine dates back nearly 4,000 years. Please tell me how people living 4,000 years ago could mine dig a mine so deep? What did they use for light and how did they prevent cave-ins?

  13. RFeeOC on September 27, 2022 at 6:30 pm

Anyone who leaves these man made nightmares and doesn’t return asap to put up fencing is garbage!! No decent and especially innocent life should die so horribly when it’s completely preventable. FIX THEM. F**k!!

  19. eCapter on September 27, 2022 at 6:35 pm

The USA is such a weird country. How can there be that much mines in the middle of nowhere and all are just open. Its a miracle you didnt find some corpses holding selfiesticks next to the poor dog down there. The dog looks like he was pressing against the wall in fear and darkness…so sad…

.!! Hey man, I’m 80 I love reruns!

  23. DSGxTennessee on September 27, 2022 at 6:37 pm

Gotta say curiosity really does overwhelm people. Soon as we see a dark hole you say hey I wonder what’s in there. It will eat you up until you go and look around for yourself. Just that urge to explore and see what you find has always been in us. For all those bones it has to be a person putting that there. No way that many animals would up that deep down in that hole that far back in the shaft.

  24. Jon Holmes on September 27, 2022 at 6:38 pm

so dangerouse .u have big balls

  25. WorldFamous Gamer on September 27, 2022 at 6:40 pm

  26. GoofyGang 22 on September 27, 2022 at 6:40 pm

Kinda sad you don’t allow people to know the names of the mines or caves. Fun video though, my anxiety is hurting after the ladders.

  27. Dude On Bike on September 27, 2022 at 6:42 pm

  38. April Johnson on September 27, 2022 at 6:52 pm

  39. dick dack on September 27, 2022 at 6:55 pm

you should definetly be wearing a mask when exploring like this, the dust mixed with all the rat droppings is not good for your lungs my boy.

  41. mrdan2898 on September 27, 2022 at 6:58 pm

Why is there a hole in the ladder platform at the base of every ladder?
That would one tiring trip back to the surface.

I’m still scratching my head at how all those animals wound up falling down that shaft. It’s not that they were in there, but they were so far in, down the adit all that way before they even came to the shaft. No food in there and rock face, not den or burrow material. And the skeletons were mostly whole so I guess no one was eating any of them. Great video and interesting mine. De. serves to be almost 4 million views

  47. MM Mountain on September 27, 2022 at 7:07 pm

so it’s not like a wishing well?

  48. Mars to the Moon on September 27, 2022 at 7:07 pm

I am fascinated and horrified by this content. I know with my petite self I would have much trouble slipping into that hole but goodness! Thatd be scary! I adore your accent (Midwestern?), and find your voice very calming.

AT 20:00 when you’re talking about the split in the "collar", are…are those teeth wedged in the wall? Cause the back white things look like molars. SPOOKY!

  49. Jajaja Jenny on September 27, 2022 at 7:09 pm
