Crooked government officials, crooked media, crooked big coal companies. These small guys don’t have a chance. Welcome to communist America…..

  6. Matthew Bryant on December 3, 2021 at 4:16 pm

These men couldn’t be more correct about the corruption in our government and the motives for shutting them down. I’m not a miner, I don’t know any miners, and I don’t live anywhere in the region. But I see the same thing in the trucking industry. The big companies hire the lobbyists who pay the politicians to change the rules so they can take over the smaller companies.
Like too many other things it all comes down to greed/money.

33 yrs underground in Aust. Coal mines. Pillar & stall, then long wall, 7,8 ft horizontal seams. Take my hat off to all the brothers that mined the hard stuff. Vertical thin veins. Hard graft

My mom’s side is from Phillipi,WV and there’s nothing I love more than Appalachia. It hurt my soul watching this. One of the worst travesties the gov’t has ever caused to its own people.

It almost seems that if you were born and raised in the USA, the Government does not want you to succeed in anything that you can do on your own!!! It has been forgotten that this country is the greatest in the world because of the labor and ingenuity of hard working Americans.

People, we have the second amendment for a reason, and this type of BS right here IS the reason. Why are we still allowing the government to control us like this and ruin people’s lives, and tear apart families? Meanwhile, as we sit around like good little sheep and just take it the government slowly whittles away that second amendment in the hopes that when we do wake up and decide to fight back we will have no way to fight back, and still we just continue to take it. It’s time for people to wake up, come together, and take our country back.

  20. Larry Spiller on December 3, 2021 at 4:32 pm

So many wrong things happening in the name of safety and progress. The mining is still necessary, just how to do it best is the question. Who gets to decide that? That is the biggest problem, who is the decider of it all? What is their motive in their decisions?

To say that these small mines are adversely affecting the big mines in any significant way is the same as saying that mosquito bites are causing a person who has just cut off his arm to bleed to death. Who but a politician is so stupid as to believe this ?

When will people learn that big brother is NOT their friend? They are not, have not, and will not ever be our friends! They are rapists of the Earth who seek to steal, kill, and destroy all that is in their path to unbridled, unrestrained, totally refined GREED AND DESTRUCTION in the name of personal and corporate gain. Damn the Earth, damn their fellow man, and damned be everything in their path to gain. Wake up people because this is the religion and mantra of the elite (i.e. the 1% who plays on our dignities, morals, and values at the total expense of everything). These people answer only to the god of this world.

If they’ve been working since the age of 15, they should own the mine or be able to make an offer to buy. Sometimes the ego has to be put aside to get an education, better occupation to feed the family. It’s not the government not wanting to help. It’s about creating your own business so others don’t control how money you make, if you’ll put food on your table, if the family will go homeless etc. Own your own.
