The hunt for Forrest Fenn's $2 million hidden treasure
The hunt for Forrest Fenn's $2 million hidden treasure
The secret is hidden in a poem that starts like this: “Begin it where warm waters halt.”
Zack wrote an entire feature filled with maps, illustrated clues, and even more video. You can read and watch here: http://www.vox.com/a/fenn-treasure-hunt-map
Sometime between 2009 and 2010 an 80 year old man by the name of Forrest Fenn trekked out into the Rocky Mountains and hid a bronze chest filled with over $2 million dollars worth of treasure. The secret to the location of the treasure is contained within a six stanza poem. Forrest Fenn’s treasure, as it’s come to be known, has captivated men, women, and children around the country and world and has lured many people to the Rocky Mountains in the hopes that they’ll find the gold.

The question isn’t "how much can a 80 year old man do" but "how much can this specific 80 year old man do"?
"Where a 79 year old man could carry out bury a 45 pound treasure chest."
Besides the poem, which someone has evidently deciphered, that was the most important clue leading them to the treasure.
A clue that many people have CLEARLY overlooked lol which is why an estimated four people have died in the attempt. There was never any reason whatsoever to go too far off the beaten path.
Or spelunk through caverns and over cliffs, putting lives at risk when a little common sense is enough to realize it would only ever be hidden where an elderly man would be capable of safely accessing.
Edit; I’m glad somebody finally found it, it means the real treasure WASN’T just the friends we made along the way. 🤣
Found it
Imagine 75 year old man going up the hill to the cave, carrying a bronze chest filled with gold.
why he lloks like he is using lipstick
how would he know that there were people 250 feet away from it when he lived in New Mexico?
This sounds like one piece
Lol you guys r way off
Not even close. If only you knew,
I thought about looking for it when I made my trip out West visiting historic place, but when I found about 30 places that could have been considered the Home Of Brown I decided it was just too vague and someone would just have to get very lucky to stumble upon the right trail.
Watch it be under his house lol
Who is here after someone discovered the treasure??
Conman Fenn is looking for a safe passage out of his hoax. He knows that lawsuits loom over his con and he is groping around for a way out.
I wonder if this video helped the person that found it.
Is this what the one piece crew feel like
Came back here after I heard he has passed away. This video was the first I heard of his treasure and it sparked a lure to try and find it. But it seems the treasures been found and now Fenn is gone. Now all we have is memories.
And now someone has found it
So based on Forrest Fenn’s current age, he would have been appx 79 years old at the time he trekked 42 EXTRA pounds of stuff out into the Rocky Mountains. By himself? Hummm, I wonder… He was either extremely fit for an older guy who had a battle with cancer, to carry that much weight, or he had an accomplice(s) who had assisted him and knew the secret location as well. Either way, very impressive. Impressive if he did it all alone himself, and equally impressive if there was another person(s) who assisted and knew of the location, and was able to keep such a hugh secret as well.
Cool story
I love that couple 10 : ……
Why is this not on tv more…..like history , discovery ….ya know? Makes ya wonder….. i feel the only legal way to take and keep it?…..is if its on forests land.that he owns…… otherwise its national park, forest or native land, or federal forest . Then again…. fibs get told whrn cars get sold…. "oh it was a gift" i didnt pay 3000 for it…..barely runs…. 1$in tax…lol
Keep your hands on the steering wheel or walk. I don’t sub to dangerous drivers
13:15 bears rest in caves 🙂
Life is like a Box of Treasure
You never know what your gonna get out of looking for it..
Maybe that’s the treasure.. in it’s self.
I don’t think he buried anything… Treasure is heavy to lug around for a long time.
UPDATE: According to Forrest Fenn, the treasure has been found!
"It was under a canopy of stars in the lush, forested vegetation of the Rocky Mountains and had not moved from the spot where I hid it more than 10 years ago. I do not know the person who found it, but the poem in my book led him to the precise spot. I congratulate the thousands of people who participated in the search and hope they will continue to be drawn by the promise of other discoveries."
Someday when the treasure is found i’ll come back to this comment
Too bad they didn’t know there’s a Joe Brown launch next to the Yellowstone River. Near the Wyoming border
Ridiculous show called “expedition unknown” did an episode on this too
JUST USE DRONES WITH METAL DETECTORS
Fuked by Faker Forrest Fenn…
It would have been funny if forest fenn would have said ( home of Bob) instead of the home of brown he’d had everybody messed up lol!!!!
Neh way I just read an article that the treasure has been allegedly found, I know I’m probably the last to know but it’s cool given how I only learned about the whole treasure through this video just a few days ago
The treasure hunt is officially Over June 2020 someone has found the treasure.
At 14 i hiked round alot of Yellowstone lake …7 miles in , and 7 out with my dad and brother . I wish i had known about this treasure
Forrest Fenn has passed away on September 7th less than three months after the treasure was found. Coincidence?
Better off buying Bitcoin and holding it until 2028
Clue one. Lines 1-4. The Chapel of Light in Montezuma NM. Associated with the School.
Lines 4-8 has 4 clues. Where warm waters halt is across the creek from the School. There is a hot spring. The path leading to the spot descends, opposite of the river itself. The whole area is less than a 1/4 mile worth of walking. Home of Brown refers to the Outlaw Brown from Dodge City, At the Hot Springs is an old jail cell.
Lines 9-12. Across the old bridge is a forest. You are about 100 yards or so away. The heavy loads and water high refer to the loch or small little damns in the creek.
Lines 13-16, The Blaze is a fire pit. It’s got a stack of Rocks. I went to dig up the pit. I got about 18 in when I broke the shovel and left it in an X. I knew it might be in the rocks but couldn’t bring myself to tear it all down. That and I had a real bad feeling about that necklace.
Lines 17-20. Tired and weak. Building the fire pit.
Lines 21-24. In the Woods. Literally.
If you look at the Map, the outline looks just like how an archaeologists hole would look if you dug it out. Montezuma is in the little spot at the bottom of the hole. Just below where you’d think it would be.
I think you guys were really close to it, if only you would have spent more time near lamar ranger station.
Did anyone find that figurine?
I LOVE U MR FORREST GUMP FENN
thanks for all the fun!
guy: actually finds treasure
IRS: holup
" Tarry scant ..withh marvle gaze ".. means to dawdle…or take your time take in the beauty slowly , then take the chest and go in peace….
Who’s here after the finder came out???
They found it!!
19:18 so my man gonna show up with lipstick on like nothing happened
I would do something like this if I was a billionaire. Put like 5 million in gold and have people search for it.
ONE PIECE does EXIST!!!!🏴☠️
What if it’s like under the home of brown, like under the house
I have a map that is holding a treasure hunt in a island
