Thank you very, very much for this video! It has opened my eyes… Thanks a lot!
My prophecy: The german car industry is absolutely dead. I didn’t believe it when I heard this two, three years ago, but now I’m sure! They aren’t able to produce a profitable BEV anymore!
    Greetings from Austria, Europe!

why didn’t they move the factory closer to the 2 lithium producers? or closer to the lone wolf lithium producer?
Wouldn’t it make econmical sense to be just next to one producer?

Just watched battery day. You are an Oracle.

Check out Nouveau Monde Graphite outside Montreal, Quebec. They are starting an all electric mining operation with massive high grade reserves.

Hilarious that your perditions have take place before your upload. I got to do more perditions after the fact

I’m more surprised by the fact that the US doesn’t have a graphite mine anymore. And for nearly 30 years no less. That is quite shocking frankly. I mean, we all need pencils every now and then. Even we in the UK have still got them up and running.

  10. Julian Johnson on March 18, 2021 at 6:01 am

If Tesla own it’s own mines, and produce it’s own batteries-that can lower cost production for their products! Meaning higher profits margins!

Nouveau Mone is THE graphite play

Nouveau monde is getting battery quality graphite right now.

Essential viewing for NMT holders. Innovative format by stopping interview at various points to explain a comment by Chris. Interesting confirmation that 10% of batteries fail to pass spec & are therefore candidates for recycling.

You killed it as usual. Thanks so much!

  15. GrasponReality on March 18, 2021 at 6:06 am

way over thought… Your own introduction hoses the hypothesis… If Li is only 2% of the battery mass then it’s a negligible cost to the supply chain to move it.. The reason Nevada was chosen is really simple it is the closest point by far to their existing factory in Fremont. It’s the same reason there are so many distribution centers in Nevada close to large California markets but with Nevada tax structures.

Why would Musk need lithium domestically, when he asked a few people in our gov’t, some senators, btw, who supervised a coup coup in Bolivia which has the largest proven lithium reserves in the world? Seriously, read. Maybe it’s to mix with his ill gotten gains in Bolivia? Idk. Maybe as a cover for the massive amounts of new found lithium going into his factories? I wonder which country in Africa he subverted to get his cobalt…

LAC is having a 30% increase over the last few days as we approach battery day, while the other lithium stocks stay level. Do you think a partnership with LAC (Nevada Lithium Corp) may be coming?

  21. Tyler Jonas on March 18, 2021 at 6:10 am

Frontier Lithium is going to be a giant of a pick in the next couple years. Massive amounts of high-grade lithium in close proximity to distribute to the EV makers. They are talking the "greenbushes" of North America

  22. oisiaa on March 18, 2021 at 6:10 am

Westwater Resources has a graphite mine in Alabama. It’s not Nevada, but at least it is in the USA.

  23. Robert Lee on March 18, 2021 at 6:11 am

Tesla didn’t buy a Lithium Mine lol, they signed an agreement to buy Lithium products.
When will you make a vid to buy steel lol

well this is why i have constantly BARKED at elon re: GF5/6 in australia because 30 produce 60% of the worlds lithium and have about 20% of world reserves while chile has 60% of reserve and tesla currently get supplied by the largest australian supplier why not build here

According to my expertise in Climate Mining, I fully agree with Ivan. It’s outstanding analysis about how battery metals in the new frontier for upward integration of Tesla and other EVs companies. But climate mining. There is a great opportunity to reduce costs and efficiency in mining more than other steps of the value chain. Here an example, the transport of Lithium concentrates in EV trucks.

American Battery Technology Company is building a battery recycling plant 18 miles from Tesla’s Gigafactory in NV. They have former Tesla chemists working with them as well as BASF and DuPont. It could be Tesla works closely with them in the near future.

Where did you source that video with Elon talking about the batteries

  43. royalcitysax on March 18, 2021 at 6:35 am

How much lithium (LCE) does 1 dollar in each of the advanced lithium companies get you?
    $CYP: 136.7 kg
    $BCN: 45.8 kg
    $LAC: 25.3 kg
    $SYA.AX: 20.6 kg
    $CRE: 7.3 kg
    $INR.AX: 4.7 kg
    $PLL.AX: 1.3 kg
*Measured and indicated resource (all assets) based on current share-price

It looks like Cypress is clearly the winner here.

  45. Juan Cortes on March 18, 2021 at 6:37 am

Elon Musk should use his Boring company to mine the resources he needs to produce his batteries, unless is more cost effective to outsource the labor to mine lithium and nickel

  46. Wayne Simpson on March 18, 2021 at 6:38 am

Why I love your Da Vinci Code type scheming. Think Nevada was chosen because it was a straight shot up I80 and Union Pacific RR from Fremont.

  47. sequi- tur on March 18, 2021 at 6:39 am

Not all graphite is top quality. *Nouveau Monde Graphite* with high quality flake and spherical graphite, in Quebec is partially operating, and will be fully operational in 2022.
