Steins Ghost Town | Old Gold Mining Town | New Mexico | USA | HD

Steins ghost town is in Stein’s Pass of Hidalgo County, New Mexico. It was originally called Stein’s Pass after the nearby pass through the Peloncillo Mountains (Hidalgo County). The pass was named after United States Army Major Enoch Steen, who camped nearby in 1856, as he explored the recently acquired Gadsden Purchase.

Larry was murdered I think in 2011, Steins is closed now. Cold case, no leads he was shot in the chest several times.
Murdered by a cold-blooded devil with a gun. Thumbs up, thank you for the video and the memories…

In about 2013 I got a phone number and a lady answered I asked very respectfully if they were ever going to reopen or if I could pay her or someone a very respectfully amount of money for a short tour. I did mention that I was a serious history enthusiast and have been making a almost yearly trip in my jeep for 20 plus years to visit ghost towns…
I had read everything I could find on the internet about the homicide at the location, ,,and think this person I was talking might of been related to the victim …I did not mention that I had read anything about the homicide or that I was a Houston police officer. Anyway she was not real nice and not rude in anyway (she probably gets alot of call from people like me and with no suspect in the case she probably has lost any trust in people) its beyond most people’s imagination what it’s like for the family of a homicide victim to live the rest of there life not knowing who did a crime like this.
Anyway about a year later I stopped by and there was a lady talking to a person , I got out of my jeep with my dog on a leash walked to within about 10 to 15 feet of the fence,,,the lady was about 30 feet from me and I asked if i could walk up to the fence to look,,,,i could not really hear what she said but i could tell by the tone and body language it was not friendly so i just left……..
Well i hope someday the property is reopened, but what I really hope for is that there is some kind of disposition on this homicide,,,,,,not just for the victim but for the family , if they cant get justice at least some kind of closure..
