Chest deep snow and a harrowing descent into the old abandoned mine shaft!
Is this the squatters fabled gold mine!?
The story goes; “There is a long haired scruffy fellow, living in an abandoned gold mine here in Summit County Colorado. Once a week he ventures into Whole Foods n buys $800 worth of tasty food. He pays with crisp $100 bills and always has a raggedy empty burlap sack tucked into his waist”. He must be selling his high grade gold ore here locally to someone.
I want to find him! and make friends!! Let’s Go!

I think that was just ice, not stalagmites.
Very cool old mine. Hi from Garfield County.
Hello! I am very happy to have found your channel. This video was great. Can’t wait to see your newer content. Thumb up, shared and subscribed.
Excellent! Thank you. Sorry I know your still Buried in snow up their. Beware the sring run off this yr. Be safe
Interesting. Good to learn about the minerals down there and the perspective from the original miners chasing the vein.
If you laced up your boots, your feet would stay drier.
I didn’t notice this older video. You are a NuT. Thank you for your Gold mining adventures.
That’s crazy who lives in Colorado
๐
Thanks for explaining what kind of mineral we were looking at!! That’s very interesting!! Use to live in Colorado springs. Our weekend excursions were usually cripple creek and victor . I can feel
history in old mining towns !! Love the old west!!
Wow mate what an adventure
We live on the same planet but world’s apart. It’s over 40 degrees C every day by 11 am in my mining area.
๐ช๐ช๐ช sweet awesome adventure
Why not keep walking in to see what the sound is? Awesome
Do you ever go prospecting up left hand canyon in Boulder county if so I’d love to go I been prospecting up there all summer and found a gold telluride. I haven’t been in any mines though just around them
Where do you find abandoned mines? I like taking photos, outside of course
Enjoy your videos, very informative!! I know of a few mines in Idaho springs that I explored as a teenager that go on for miles and miles. Wish I would have known more back then!
GPS coordinates please??
America "NOW" is like Wiemer Germany , with NO HITLER !
Any chance you’d tell me a location? Or even a hint? Understandable if not haha
WAY too dangerous for me!
Have you ever found gold when inside one of theses caves?
I’m down in conejos county, I NEVER go into the mountains without my sidearm. Knives won’t help much
Thank you very much for your description of the minerals while mine exploring too few explorers say much while on their explore.
the offshoot was probably exploratory trying to see if there was a parallel vein – which often happens with these kinds of deposits.
Great job bro — you explain and show — Thanks
Buy yourself some gaiters
DUDE!! DID NONE OF YOU SPOT THE KID’S GLOVES?!!! I WOULD REPORT THAT TO AUTHORITIES!!๐ค
Im a rock-hound, i would love to meet you if you want to go back to this cave
Love your videos! Do you happen to know of any abandoned mines near the Hartsel or Pueblo area? Cheers!
I’ve only briefly explored old mines in Colorado, but it is quite fun! I am gonna get a toxic gas monitor, and better safety equipment. I would love to explore with you next summer sometime. I’m in Gunnison county but travel around a bit
Pretty sulfides
I’m new to exploring for different minerals, gems, etc. What advice do you have for a beginner? And also, how do you find open claims?
You know there’s this cool invention called a "shovel"
The Moths that you touched will never fly again and will die.
Good money in unique stone.
For beads or jewlery
Love this vid, it’s so informative!๐
It’s called an adit not a tunnel.
What camera are you using??
What the hell was that?
it would be wise to test this mine, it could be loaded
Have you heard of any gold mines above the million $ highway in ouray???
Have you searched any areas in leadville for the fenn treasure? I used to live in leadville and will be moving back very soon.
Nice find man. I would take some samples from that ore shoot. Looks like the stoped it out but without goin up there we’ll never know. I’d check the ground under the cross ties too. Could have good stuff goin down, but didn’t see any winzes so.?
The sound editing is laughably bad and quite annoying/distracting at times. Love the attention to the minerals on in the mine. Most mine explores I watch just flash by interesting rock formations while they look for ore carts and boring stuff. ๐
I AM GOING TO SAVE YOUR LIFE. GET A BETTER FLASHLIGHT AND USE MULTIPLE LIGHT SOURCES.
How do you get to go into this mine? Cripple Creeks are pretty much private property.
Love my home State but don’t miss the snow here in Florida๐
Great and interesting video! Thank you from๐ซ๐ฎ
You shouldn’t touch moth wings, our oils are detrimental.

Wow!! That is crazy! One thing to do that during the spring and summer but winter! Wow impressive!!!
Must be warm enough for the moths at the ceiling and cold enough to freeze at the floor
