Seniorita Gold Mine for Sale – Colorado – 2016

Seniorita Gold Mine for Sale – Colorado – 2016

The Seniorita Mine is about 4 miles north of Ouray, Colorado. The claim has a large track coming from what appears to have once been a haulage tunnel. Piping and track indicate a large adit was once on site.

The mine has not been worked in a long time, and there is little historical information available, but it is known to have been worked for gold as early as 1893 with various owners since.

The area from Ouray to Silverton is loaded. Red Mountain alone supposedly has more than 300 miles of underground workings. Much of which has collapsed.
Be aware underground of the extreme dangers of drifts etc with standing water. Low oxygen can happen.
Every year they used to rescue explorers. But now most adits are being sealed off.
