It’s a good action movie with a familiar plot. But it’s good!

    This movie is absurd.

I loved the Dirk Pitt novels growing up. While this is a fun movie, it wasn’t really a Dirk Pitt story. One of the main things that keeps bothering me is their portrayal of Rudi. He was also a Navy Seal and a badass in his own right, even if a bit nerdy. They make him look like he’s useless for anything other than smarts in this movie. That’s just the main thing that bothers me. But it IS still a fun movie.

So unfortunate that Hollywood doesn’t make movies like these anymore. Adventures and family friendly. Movies these days are either some Marvel comic or all talk no action. Btw, I love Penelope cruz

Steve Zahn looking buff and kinda like a G in this movie..
    Usually looking geeky and shit..

Totally unbelievable that American’s & a woman would last an hour in these war torn, corrupt, African countries. But if you like action, you’ll enjoy the movie.

The bit with the “Panama” move sealed the deal for this being an all time favorite ridiculous fun action movie for me. Absurd in parts, but as old Jack Burton says, “what the hell?”

  17. Mike Peralta on November 8, 2021 at 2:58 am

I LIKED THE PANAMA SCENE. WHAT A CLASSIC.

1:41:54 What the hell are you talking about lady!? You damn near killed him when you hit him with a frikkin’ helecopter! Lol. He barely caught himself and survived after that. Before that he had a HUGE upper hand. "Oh but it was 1vs1 so how did he have an upper hand?" Remember when he beat that dude’s ass when he had two big guys helping him AND weapons? Not to be cliche but that really does seem like something a lady would say after the fact, just because I’ve been there done that DOZENS of times and had similar things happen, minus the helicopter and the skyscraper rooftop. Actually there was one time that involved a helicopter, but it was different. When I say "dozens" I literally mean dozens. Hell, even right this second I’m nursing a shattered foot after saving a woman’s life. Long story short I walked through a doorway and immediately saw out of the corner of my eye a man to my right raising a gun at a woman in front of me with the intention to shoot. Reflexes kicked in and I pushed past her, threw myself in front of her, and charged him. I disarmed him, kicked his ass, and gave her the gun and kept at it. (If someone goes to draw a gun and point it at you the average person can reach them first as long as they are within 12 feet and the assailant isn’t a quickdraw expert. He was 10 feet away when I stepped through the door, but he had already started raising the gun and I didn’t know that was going on when I stepped into the hall.) It’s a good thing I acted quickly because that long narrow hall made us "fish in a barrel". After I gave her the gun, and during the struggle, she for some reason kept coming close and "dancing" around us and inadvertently and repeatedly stomped all over my calves and feet even though there wasn’t one second where I didn’t have the situation completely under control, one of my feet I had decently injured previously that day, (amazing I got to him so quick considering that really, now that I think about it). Anyway you can probably see where this is going now. So after I literally threw myself in the line of fire saving her life and disarmed him and gave her the gun before incapacitating him 3 or 4 times, apparently according to her SHE saved my life and was completely unthankful for me getting involved and saving hers’ when she’s the one who literally shattered my right instep and did absolutely nada but get in the way and be more than a detriment. She messed me up more than the assailant who did jack diddly to me lol. Honestly she was so unthankful and abrasive that I almost wish I just let him shoot her. ALMOST. But I put others before myself at my own expense so much I could never truly wish that. I’m a man of priciple and each man has their own, to such an extent that some ignorants would call me a sadist at times considering what I put myself through for others. Oh yeah, it’s important to note that I couldn’t prosecute either one because that would have put her in an unrecoverable financial state at the time, (she depended on him at the time and was already in the process of leaving him and getting her own place, but that required another few months), which left me screwed for helping out. I have no insurance after not working after breaking every bone in my body when a drunk driver plowed into me, I was literally due to go back to work though less than 2 weeks after this happened. This happened almost 2 months ago now and have not been able to go to the doctor as a result, though I THINK I’ve been healing nicely. Women.
-This was inadvertantly a small oppurtunity for me to vent a little. I did not start writing this comment with that intention so my bad peoples.

Big fan of Clive Cussler but McConaughey isn’t who I imagined playing Dirk. Love Steve Zahn but I didn’t imagine him as Gordino.

First 10 Minutes Diagnose a Disease and Want to call it a "Outbreak" with only SIX Cases.. "What do we need, Sixty?"… According to Recent Events…. You only need TWO and in Two Different Parts of the World and the Two different people Never Meeting Before and Can ONLY Be Transmitted by Blood (they Fully admit that) …. And Already having a Vac..Sine Ready for it AROUND 6 yrs Before, tho they can’t Cure the Common Flu, Clod, Pneumonia… That have been around Countless Generations..
