All these decades later Gillian Anderson is still gorgeous. And she’s actually around my age too. I always assumed she was quite a bit older, until I read up on her…a Gen X’er like myself.
Gillian Anderson’s British accent is horrible. Which is weird because her mother is English.
Phenomenal cast!! But the unsung actor was the MOUSE flitting across the floor under the Queen Mum’s nose!! Perfect entrance and exit!
I don’t think people realise outside of the UK working class how much Thatcher destroyed us. ESP up north and Scotland. I’m from Barnsley and my town is still reeling from her. Crown did a good job of not glorifying her and showing how much she believed she thought she was benefitting us. She didn’t. I’m 27 and I still feel the pain of her government
How and why on earth is Gillian Anderson speaking with a full English accent after having lived in England since just 2002?
What I was most interested in was the relationship between Diana and Charles, and now what I find most interesting is the interaction between Thatcher and the Queen. Gillian Anderson has an incredible intensity. My dad’s reaction on Sunday evening to the first scene with Gillian: "it is as if she has risen from the dead, how creepy!" I laughed so hard.
Both women are amazingly talented actresses and I’m sure the Crown is very entertaining, but can we just sit back and admire how gorgeous Olivia Coleman is? Gillian gets mentioned all the time for her beauty, but Olivia…those blue eyes…😍

Gillian owned this season and I say that with untold respect to whole cast as they are all utterly brilliant. If Netflix isn’t sensible enough to commission a Thatcher spin off featuring Gillian they need their heads examined.

Loved Gillian sonce I was a teen watching the X-Files- found Olivia during the Tom Hiddleston/Hugh Laurie series The Night Manager and now try to watch anything she does – seeing both of them split screen Like that, I had a strange thought that I would Love to see the 2 of them in a modern, British version of Cagney and Lacey, or something similar, maybe in the vein of Helen Mirren’s Prime Suspect- both have played cop/special agent/detective types before- Wishful Thinking but that hit me

The thing about Thatcher is that she was a very insecure woman and a loving wife to her husband. She felt she had a pre-conceived destiny to save Great Britain from itself and her dedication is well documented
The Queen spent more time in the military (A position she volunteered for) and served her country more than Cheesolini ever has.
Plus, Gillian Anderson is new the Meryl Streep. More, Gillian, more!
If you like Gillian Anderson, check out Hannibal the tv series. She plays a marvelous role in that show. It is a psychological thriller with dark themes. That interpretation of Hannibal is very classy, actually.
My first exposure to Olivia Coleman was Peep Show… fantastic comedy.

Margaret thatcher broke Britain. Reagan started the breaking of us. Tony and bill broke liberalism. Trump and Johnson finished us off. They all the broke our idea of great men and women. Long live the Queen!
I remember seeing Thatcher once as she was walking into Parliament with her ministers and aides around her. She looked at us schoolkids like we were the scum of the earth. Will never forget the look she gave us. Gillian nails Thatcher for the most part, except for the look in her eyes – she’s too bright a soul for that.
If Thatcher says once more, on this series, how her father taught her hard work, I am going to throw something at the screen.
Gillian nailed it. Margaret Thatcher was a difficult role and could have been miscast quite easily and she was perfect. Couldn’t have been done better in my opinion.

It may not have been pre-ordained. It’s incorrect to say the Queen " was NEVER meant to do the job". She became heir presumptive when she was ten y.o. From then on, it was ordained.
