NEVER TOO SMALL 25sqm/269sqft small apartment design – El Camarín

Centrally located in Buenos Aires the 25sqm El Camarín occupies a triangular space in a 1950’s building previously left empty due to its small size. A unique scalloped balcony screen allowed iR architecture to incorporate the balcony into an expanded living area. The bedroom was relocated and separated from the living area with a combined storage/shelving unit that slides underneath the bed. Polished concrete throughout connects each part of the home, leading through to the bathroom where a multifunctional ladder allows access to the rooftop terrace. A hidden feature that provides an oasis of calm within the busy city.

I was like "hey, that looks like my neighbourhood" and then he said it’s Buenos Aires. I saw the address and I’m 3 blocks away! Such a lovely neighborhood, I never would have imagined a place like that hidden in the middle of the city ❤️
I seriously doubt anyting better could’ve been done with that frankly weird layout. Very good job. I honestly don’t know if I could manage to share such a small space with someone else but it’s definitely doable storage-wise.

Since there’s tons of natural light I think he could have used more colour. those shelves could even be black and the cabinets could use some light wood texture

this is probably by far one of the hardest floor plan/design to tackle on this channel which in turn, made it one of the most innovative as well so kudos to the architect for pulling it off !

One thing I’ve noticed is that my workstation would never fit in work desks created for tiny apartments. My conclusion is that digital artists have no money to buy these kinds of beautiful apartments XD Geez, they even have a pergola!
but why wouldnt they just use the balcony as part of the space? why separate it?

What a lovely, airy, usable space. I love this design!
I give Then credit for trying to make a small space liveable. It is a functional space for 2 people, not in my opinion.
