Multiverse of Madness: Iron Man Impossible to Reboot with a Variant? | Feige's Plan

Iron Man Tony Stark was a no-show in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but why is that actually a good thing? Open up a Wealthfront investment account today through my link https://www.wealthfront.com/rockstars and get your first $5,000 managed for free! Thank you to Wealthfront for sponsoring this video.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introduces us to the Illuminati of the 838 Universe, but wisely avoids showing us the Iron Man Tony Stark of that universe, despite rumors that Robert Downey Jr. might return, or that Tom Cruise might cameo in the role. But is Iron Man’s irreplaceability after the Infinity Saga actually part of a smarter strategy by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige? In this new miniseries called “Feige’s Plan,” Erik Voss explains the bold choices to establish Tony Stark as the central figure to the MCU in its first three phases, and how any attempts to replace him with a variant in Phase 4 will not lead to the same success the character had in earlier films.

The editor for Endgame wanted them to do the ‘I am Ironman’ line after the reshoots. They had to convince RDJ to come back one more time just for that scene.

  5. Remy_Lebeau on July 1, 2022 at 9:21 pm

Personally, don’t ever want to see Tom Cruise in any Marvel property.

As someone who watched the original Ironman in theaters at 21yrs old and, over the past 14yrs, has become cemented in my fandom for all things Feige, I firmly believe that RDJs interpretation of Tony Stark is rightly left untouched. It was the unlikely catalyst to what has become a movement in cinema and storytelling, and to reimagine the character haphazardly would be a great disservice to the roots of what we’ve all come to love. RIP GBPP

Feige told Favreau to "prioritize core fans alongside newcomers to the franchise"

20+ years later is a shame this has lost and only the newcomers matter 100% rather than the core fans of Marvel comics.

Good video, but weird answer to the question "Why didn’t they not have this specific one off character cameo?" Because we aren’t talking about a reboot. We’re talking about a fun one off cameo.

  37. Jason Bodine on July 1, 2022 at 10:01 pm

The MCU is NOT universe 616. I don’t care what they’re trying to say.

  38. Lion Pazam on July 1, 2022 at 10:01 pm

I have to keep reminding myself that Kevin feige knows what he’s doing and not tell myself that he should have done this or that instead

  42. Sebastián C on July 1, 2022 at 10:03 pm

    You should interview Kevin Feige…
