Maryland Mountain // Hidden Treasure Trails Outside of Black Hawk, Colorado

Show me the money! Maryland Mountain is a super fun and newish trail system (built in 2020) just outside of Blackhawk, Colorado. Blackhawk is home to a bunch of casinos and on former mining land so naturally, all the trails have some form of money as the names: Hard Money, Fast Money, Easy Money, etc.

This was our second ride of the day, starting out at Floyd Hill as a warm-up that morning. We’d highly recommend just taking Easy Money up as we tried a few other trails up and it was not nearly as easy. Hard money is a bit more technical and we did walk a few sections. I think if I had knee pads (and more skills) we could cover it all though it does get blown out at the end of the season.

Fast money was exactly that, super fast and fun. It is a haul to get to the top so do save some in the tank. Natalia and I were both bonking hard!

Parking: If the Hidden Treasure TH is packed, you can park at a lower lot about .2 miles away and ride up the road. Be careful, it’s a small shoulder.
Recommended Gear: You can go full on DH or XC mode, both were there. I would recommend knee pads at a minimum. Wished I had some!
