Tottenham and Manchester United are reluctant to pay the £40m fee being demanded by Brentford for David Raya.
Both clubs are interested in signing the goalkeeper this summer, with Hugo Lloris set to leave Spurs and the future of David De Gea uncertain at United.
However, the two teams do not currently agree that Raya is worth that amount with just one-year remaining on his contract, and there has been no contact yet with the Bees.

While I would love to introduce the idea of a fresh goal keeper at united, De Gea cannot be replaced especially after winning a golden freaking glove. You will not convince Ten Hag or the board that De Gea will be replaced (even though I like the idea of fighting for the spot) Simply cannot spend all that money for someone to sit on the bench like Butland did

If Kepa is worth 70m plus, then he’s definitely worth 40m. Arsenal paid 30m for that hapless ramsdale. If Man Utd and spurs are reluctant to pay, then don’t pay it. it’s not like they’re forced to bid.

Rice to Arsenal, Maddison to Newcastle or Spurs, Caicedo to Chelsea, Kovacic to City. Man United will still be trying to monitor, sound-out, admire or convince players in August. Not to mention the shambles of a sale the Glazers are conducting.
I know spurs are reluctant to spend money. But United spend more money than most other teams, then pretend they are one of the clubs that don’t buy success.
