Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine

Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine

The Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine is, according to legend, a rich mine hidden in the southwestern United States. The location is generally believed to be in the Superstition Mountains, near Apache Junction, east of Phoenix, Arizona. There have been many stories about how to find the mine, and each year people search for the mine. Some have died on the search. The Lost Dutchman’s is perhaps the most famous lost mine in American History.

I didn’t know the area was considered "some of the most rugged in the country"… That will guarantee me never trying to hike it :). However, I have my suspicions that the gold is actually North of Scottsdale… Nice video!

Very picturesque area! How fun to find the gold, but I’m guessing it is probably just a legend. Nice video!

Good video. You should visit his grave site. I always think it’s funny people are still looking. It may have been found already. There are tons of abandoned mines in the Sups. It’s not like there’s going to be a sign or anything. It could be at the bottom of one of the lakes. Those lakes are man made and were created well after his death. Also you make a good point about it being government property. Good luck getting the permits to mine it. Not to mention the infrastructure needed to support a mine will cost a fortune. But it’s a fun hobby for people and brings in tourist dollars that AJ needs.
