Woody Wampler is a great name for a Prospector. If gold was there I think the US Government would go after it. But there’s definitely a curse because of all the deaths that occurred there and the area is haunted too. The veins of gold there have long been covered over and its hard to relocate them. I’m sure native Indians knew where a lot of gold was. I heard the area is off limits for the most part. I have several articles about the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine in my old back issues of treasure hunting mags.

Wtf is this show. These guys are all chubby and they’re not even sweating after hiking all that tough terrain with all that heavy equipment. Something tells me these guys aren’t even real dutch hunters and probably just actors. Especially with that stereotypical looking sarge guy always holding a cigar in his mouth.

  5. Davo gifman on April 29, 2020 at 5:10 pm

I’m going out on a limb here guys, and predict they’ll find… nothing. Sorry about the spoiler. 😆

  10. razony on April 29, 2020 at 5:19 pm

Who’s the next network that’s going to look for the gold and NOT find it?
The gold is like looking for evidence that Jesus existed outside of the bible. It Don’t exist!

  11. Jeff Taylor on April 29, 2020 at 5:20 pm

The gold is not on that mountain people, go a few miles away and you will find the gold, you will also find what you may not want to find, so be very careful and go very prepared

The old duchman was in his 80s it would have been almost impossible for him to go way way out there ,if there’s gold it’s probably near the flat areas

  27. dzyanist on April 29, 2020 at 5:39 pm

One thing about the "hisstory channel", there will NEVER be a payoff…UGH..

  28. A Roblesius on April 29, 2020 at 5:41 pm

They didn’t find the gold, but the real treasure was the friendships they made along the way

  29. Chuck DeMarco on April 29, 2020 at 5:44 pm

  37. bill howes on April 29, 2020 at 5:50 pm

This whole "Gang" is "Aces"! It’s amazing how clean they remain throughout this endeavor. I’m glad the camera crew didn’t slow them down. Wayne Tuttle is pretty cool. You may have heard of his brother who is also famous. Tom Turtle. He’s a bit slow but, is hard-shelled. -Narrator, Bill Howes.

  38. Vince Zetti on April 29, 2020 at 5:50 pm

so scripted, like pawnstars & gold rush

  39. Chuck DeMarco on April 29, 2020 at 5:50 pm

    Frank calm down

  40. Chuck DeMarco on April 29, 2020 at 5:51 pm

Someone embellish the story. So people could come there and it’s become a tourist attraction. And you can spend your hard-earned money smh. If it ever was there somebody is definitely found it.

  41. LedosKell on April 29, 2020 at 5:53 pm

Shame the show only lasted six episodes on history channel but the guys here are still going strong on their youtube channel.

  42. Debbie VanLeuven on April 29, 2020 at 5:53 pm

What happens if the map is just some random treasure map and they are making it all fit?? A bunch of men playing. That’s what I see

  43. Chuck DeMarco on April 29, 2020 at 5:53 pm

Who ever pays for Woody wampler’s get your money back now

  44. Joe Guzman on April 29, 2020 at 5:54 pm

Another thing was the old duchman had horse and mule so if a horse can’t go in the area it’s the wrong place

  45. Wicked Power on April 29, 2020 at 5:54 pm

I’m guessing the property is a National Park because the prospectors aren’t using ATVs or Sport Utility. Seems like a lot of energy wasted walking.. Even on an ATV you could still keep an eye out if you crawl along.. who knows

  46. Venemy on April 29, 2020 at 5:56 pm

i live in apache junction, nobody is every going to find the gold because it isn’t real

Ha Ha! The entrance is on the north side at the base of the Needle. It has been seen from the top, when the sun was straight overhead.

  49. STEPHEN MARTINI on April 29, 2020 at 6:00 pm

I saw this same episode on tv about three years ago on a series called: Legend of The Superstition Mts. But, like all programs like this they all go so far then are never shown again. Another great story taken of for lack of viewership. Old searchers looking for gold caches that todays kids don’t want to work to find. A shame, really. I would love to accompany these men into the regions we have all read about most of our lives but never had a chance to go.

Lost Dutchman mine was a mine not a placer. Also maps drawn with a sharpie are not reliable .
