The original musical actually had slightly different lyrics… In the verse about the ‘burlycue’, Will Parker describes the entertainment in more explicit detail!
"One of the gals was fat and pink and pretty
As round above as she was round below
I could swear that she was padded from her shoulder to her heel
but later in the second act as she began to peel
She proved that everything she had was absolutely real!"
Bit risque for the movie, but I prefer the real lyrics! 😉
@Duckeroon I was basing my lyrics on the actually lyrics from the musical. We did it this summer so we had actually had all the official sheet music for all the songs and that’s what they said. I just find it really funny that they had to change the lyrics in the movie because it was too inappropriate even though they are talking about a burlesque show already.
Haha! I love this song! Yeah, i know for a 15 year old thats weird, but i heard this song for tap class! and were doing this song agin for tap! =D I love it! It’s just an amazing song.
In the actual text of this song it’s not "and then she started dancin’ and her dancin’ made me feel" it’s actually "and later in the second act when she began to peel." XD
Will’s voice is so smooth and amazing!!!
thanks so much

Enjoying these uploads from this musical. I was in the show back in ’08. A shame these uploads cut off in the middle, though.
I grew up during the Punk years..still love the hard and sad music of LA and England from that time…………but still what sweet art this is. Yessir!

I am addicted to this song
He actually kind of sounds like the scare crow from Wizard Of Oz when he sings! Catchy tune…my favorite in the movie!

Shirley Jones: Laurie.
