Hunting for California Amethyst Crystals

This winter we camped in the California wilderness and hunted for amethyst crystals. We found a fresh pocket of some beautiful crystal specimen, check out how we did it!

Hey brother just watching your show wondering how come you guys never go hunting 4 rubies in California myself and an old man that used to always be there in Royal Seco campgrounds used to go along the river and find little rubies he hunted up and down the Mountainside for the main vein that these things were coming out of I’ve only found one myself but the old man had a whole jar full of them

You’ve inspired me to start rock hounding and mining for amethyst. I started doing research on rocks and am trying to understand everything. You’re video is seriously awesome and I’m stoked for all your finds! I feel like I have so many questions for you!!! But I guess what makes you pick a spot? And I’m assuming this is Southern California? Sorry I’m still new at this

I’m moving to California City in November, wanna go dig sometime?

  9. J.S. Bach BWV 582 on July 6, 2021 at 12:28 pm

    Was this public or private?

I’m looking for public spots to do my first dig in the central and north locations but all I’ve found through searching is southern California public sites. :/

Are there any that you know of from central up? Or possibly east Nevada? (I know there are a few public dig sites in Nevada but was wondering what you would recommend for a first time traveler.)

Okay, but why don’t I have cool friends like this? Haha. I love how you guys hype each other up after every specimen is found. Also, how dope is it that y’all have your own desert DJ!?!?

Time to join a Gem club! 😂 Although I’m not sure if I’ll find anyone local to go digging with. 😅

    w
What are you going to do with your finds?

  24. Shane alpine on July 6, 2021 at 12:45 pm

Didn’t a fire go through here or am I mistaken

  25. Donovan McGrath on July 6, 2021 at 12:46 pm

Great finds! I’m looking to go amethyst hunting soon myself. Obviously it’d be bad form to ask exactly where this is, but could I get the general region? I’m in the Bay Area and most of the best spots for any kind of gem seem to be in Southern CA, so if this is closer to me that would be really great. If not, any reccomendations for spots around here?

  27. Michelle L Cinkel on July 6, 2021 at 12:48 pm

  28. Tony Cava on July 6, 2021 at 12:48 pm

If you’re going to have videos about gym hunting at least put the location down even if it’s Just an estimate area.

  29. Brent Jensen on July 6, 2021 at 12:53 pm

    Absolutely worthless without a location.

  30. Mezmeriscenes on July 6, 2021 at 12:53 pm

  31. Patrick Killilea on July 6, 2021 at 12:54 pm

  32. jack on July 6, 2021 at 12:55 pm

Nice finds, it always amazes me what a seemingly barren landscape has to offer

  33. xshanna banana on July 6, 2021 at 12:58 pm

One question. Are you near the same area as you were in your COVID video ?

  34. xshanna banana on July 6, 2021 at 12:58 pm

I’ve been studying a lot for the past year, I also travel, and I’ve been studying your videos. This is the best and most inspiring video to me hehe, especially with your desert DJ 💜 if you need a fire spinner / crazy crystal lady to tag along plz let me know

  35. Jackie Knudson on July 6, 2021 at 1:01 pm

Can you just go anywhere and start looking ??

  36. Mr Guevara on July 6, 2021 at 1:06 pm

Are there Crystal’s in every mountain you dig? Makes me want to go gold mine and look for amethyst right here by my house.
