HIDDEN TREASURES OF THE EAST FORK | San Gabriel Mountains | Southern California 2019
Our group went for another adventure somewhere along the East Fork River of the San Gabriel Mountains. We stayed (most of us) overnight in a place that is also special to our friend Eric who passed away just recently. We call this place “The Beach”. The area that covers the whole hike is filled with historic abandoned mines, old road and a hidden water falls. Due to safety issues, we cannot reveal publicly the locations of the mines. The group consists of Alan, Jennifer & Steve, Bill (Solobackpacker), Luis, Martin, Mike, Jason (ReWhite&Blue78), Steve and myself.

Great footage man.
Very nice! Devils Gulch is a beautiful waterfall. Reminds me of one I went to in Ventana.
Nice adventure video just as a warning all fish caught in east fork are catch and release only
The waterfall across from camp williams, there’s snakes in that waterfall. it’s been Years since I’ve been there.
Good times buddy until the next one 😁
FYI, fire of any sorts including stoves are prohibited in the LA National Forest and San Gabriel Mountains until December 2020 due to “extreme” conditions. It is in effect as of Oct. 23rd under Forest Order No. 05-01-19-06.

Looks like y’all had a good time. I think I hear Iron calling our names!
Sweet video Robert, what is the name of the soup/stew dish that you made, it looked delicious. So cool that Bill, catching fish at the fall 👍🏻 Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. See you soon ✌🏻
A very nice spot. Hell yeah!
I know exactly where u guys met up at. Man gotta love the east fork. Always a good day up there wish I could’ve met up with you guys. Planning on going on a nice hike this Wednesday. Your gear is top notch Robert 👍
Also , I’ve heard stories of “ Big Ben “ it’s considered to be a Sasquatch . One of the times me and my brother and our friends were at the Angeles forest at night , we heard leaves moving behind us and my brother actually saw the figure . I did my research and people told stories of “ Big Ben “ . I am on my quest of finding him ( not even joking ) .
Great hiking!
I’ll watch your other videos!
good luck my new friend!
Alexey
Awesome excursion and video Robert! After all these years I still have yet to camp out in the East Fork. I’m gonna have to tag along with you guys this up coming year.
Thanks for another great video!
Quick question we know we’re suppose to go to the same trail to the bridge to nowhere but only half way after that where do we go how do we get there
Hi great video. Do you need to have reservations to camp there ?
I’ve been to east fork many times sluicing and panning gold,I was told not use the river water for drinking or cooking because of high mercury content, and not to eat the fish out of it for tht reason, any truth to that?
