Why don’t you use a magnet out here like you do with paydirt at home?

  6. Dave Ruble on July 17, 2023 at 6:20 pm

Back in the 80s a couple of guys I knew would go and rework old mining spots from the 1800s and what I understood they did pretty good. At least that’s what they said they were doing. I thought they had a Meth Lab somewhere 😂. Now that I think about it I’m sure the old miners missed a lot of small gold

  7. Sam Richardson on July 17, 2023 at 6:21 pm

    How much is that permit

  8. Steve Treloar on July 17, 2023 at 6:21 pm

You have a detector? You should really run that over suspected tellurides, they’ll likely not be ‘traditional’ hot rocks and/but Acanthite is still 40% gold.
PS: I’ll send you another silver coin, clearly Aussie post can’t be trusted.

PS. Don’t roast Tellurides at home, even minor contamination from fumes will make you smell like you wash in garlic for weeks….

Feel like I’m watching the prospecting version of SteveMRE and I LOVE IT! Keep up the good work brother!

  23. Richard Beee on July 17, 2023 at 6:41 pm

Worked Fairplay back in 78-79 averaged a little over 1 1/4 oz.p/m. Sun-up to sun down 5 days a week. Left Feb. 79 got to cold and got tired of breaking ice every morning.

  24. James Davis on July 17, 2023 at 6:41 pm

That sluice looks like your blowing gold out! No thanks ! Keene only foe me! A leetle hint the good golds up on Hoosier pass (wire gold) also up in Breckinridge ! More wire gold can’t tell ya where tho! You two enjoy those little bumblebee turds your panning I prefer pickers and half ounce nuggets from tailing piles somewhere close but not to close to where your busting ur butt with that chicken wire classifier and sluice that’s leaving gold in the river!

A Claim 20′ from the road? Pull the thumb mate. You got to have the ‘pack’ young lungs and legs.

  28. The GECK on July 17, 2023 at 6:44 pm

This is the second time for me watching this video. I had to after I went up(for work) and found some nice crush samples of deteriorating quartz that was amazing! It had a lot of pyrite but after a fine crushing, some nice gold. More than I found straight panning.

  29. tedcharp on July 17, 2023 at 6:45 pm

    Awesome video thanks

  31. Otter Grotto on July 17, 2023 at 6:46 pm

I bought a decent little sluice, but I need to use it at home a few times. I need to figure out angle and water speed. The idea of losing gold freaks me out…….

  32. frederick bierweiler on July 17, 2023 at 6:49 pm

what is the sluice you are using the fluid trap?

  33. bwalsh1105 on July 17, 2023 at 6:49 pm

  35. Greg Wierzbicki on July 17, 2023 at 6:53 pm

Shane, Your videos are of great quality like jeff Williams and dan hurd! Would like to see more metal detecting videos as I’m in a non bearing gold area Delaware! It would be really cool if you set up a collaboration video with jeff Williams at one of his gold outings Arizona and Nevada I’LL bet it would boost your subscribers 10 fold! Enjoy your content thoroughly I do metal detecting but for the moment I’m stuck with a bounty hunter platinum as someone grabbed my Garrett AT Max out of the back of my Suv only got to use her twice liability insurance didn’t cover the theft of my $725.00 purchase from kellyco! Maybe next year I can afford another!

  37. Hazmat8 on July 17, 2023 at 6:56 pm

nice vid but there is no way gold at the top of your classifier fell out the bottom in less than a second of your classifier into the bucket.

  38. Salmon King on July 17, 2023 at 6:57 pm

New subscriber here…hello from Washington State!
I’m curious about this permitting requirement. Is it just a daily thing or do you buy a seasonal permit?
What’s the cost for the permit.
Do you know if there is any camping nearby?

Take one hours pay per week buy gold, start Young. You can buy gold by the gram, but I like one ounce.

  47. Greg Murray on July 17, 2023 at 7:09 pm

From KC and made it to Fairplay today. Got to pan for a couple hours. Had a blast and found a little shinny stuff

  48. PopOuimette on July 17, 2023 at 7:10 pm

    Hey Boss
Just finished The paydirt I picked up from you. I have to give you credit, I have enjoyed the anticipation and panning it out more than anything in a long time! The value is terrific, never get tired of seeing the golden smile looking back at me from the pan. The crystals ,coin and the guitar pick are an excellent touch. .7 grams and 4 pickers was awesome ,definitely a bonus bag Thanks Happy to do business with you, Hope to meet you on the Goldfields some time!
    P.S. flower gold is tough.

  49. frederick bierweiler on July 17, 2023 at 7:10 pm

great photography on magnetics, I can clearly see how gold can be picked up with the magnet and trapped there by the magnetics .Great idea to do it several times and still pan it out. great video
