GOLD MINES EVERYWHERE! Exploring Leadville Colorado!

GOLD MINES EVERYWHERE! Exploring Leadville Colorado!

How awesome would it be to live in 1890’s Leadville Colorado! Gold, Adventure and the Wild West! There are literally thousands of gold mines in this relatively small area. Mining built this town and helped settle the West. As a gold prospector and small-scale miner, I hope that responsible family mining will return to this once rich and wild part of Colorado!

When I was a kid I used to go up to Leadville and spend the Summers with my cousins up there they lived in stringtown and we would go roaming those hills behind for hours and hours I never knew that was up there never seen it first chance I get I might head up there and go visit my cousin’s again

Those old structures are amazing. Sad that many get torn down for no reason.

These "tours" are quite interesting. Pointing out features, history, and other info is like taking us along for the ride.

The first headframe you came to was the Robert Emmett, the big one set back on private property was the Ibex ore bin, the one that you spent a lot of time at and looked down through the grate was the New Monarch mine and ore bin, one of my favorites near Leadville (partly owned by JJ Brown of Molly Brown fame) and then the last part with the ponds and old houses was Stumptown…all great stuff!
