Exploring the Mine With No Name, Yavapai County, Arizona

Bob and I go to the Black Rock District north of Phoenix to explore and to find some mines to investigate! Several things worth mentioning:

1. The Monte Cristo Mine is noteworthy, but the main shaft is reportedly flooded, thus not accesible.
2. The Williams Ranch Cemetery holds 17 souls, but except for four, they are all ‘Jane and John Does. Three of the four are noteworthy, as they are the graves of children, victims of a fire in one of the ranch buildings on October 7, 1978. The cemetery is noted in the video as being on top of a large rock face, not accessible by vehicle. That will be an adventure for another time. For information on these young victims, check out https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2598249/memorial-search#srp-top
3. And then there’s the mineshaft we found. It is directly across the mountain ridge from the Gold Bar Mine, but so far I have not discovered a name. It certainly seems more extensive than a typical prospect, and thus should be identified with a name–unless it’s part of the Gold Bar property. We would have liked to nose around the Gold Bar itself, but there were numerous ‘No Trespassing’ signs posted, so we chose to honor them.

If I went into the mine, I would have a long, long, long rope. I get lost in my own closet.

(13:13) One of these days you’re going to trip over what’s left of a two-footed body.
