I’m in wonder. The Chase would be local it would take time for it to spread far enough for it to have a good chance to be found. He wouldn’t want the chase to launch and then crash because someone found it, The Chase would need time to do it’s purpose. It’s helping more than anyone could ever imagine.

So he probably escapes to the place he found when he was young, his oasis? He talks about it in his book, life and death the big picture, creation of the universe and the perspective of time is the will to choose positive action, our love for others, our time a precious commodity is best shown for see it to believe it people. Our possible action is proof of love through time with other family and friends.
I believe Forrest made an emotional connection with the Madison River that he created heaven on earth. The same thing we all do. A physical placed used in lining the stories from the book with locations on a map. Make no sense why it works but id does from a birds point of view. Its possible that in a spot used as a Banquet hall makes sense with why he picked that overlook. It was unique as us all. How do you think Forrest felt writing the book and the stories and forget the logical reason of a chest at the end, read the book as if you wrote it to share someplace special? I wonder where the road would take you then?

Is the mic for show? Audio coming from your camera still.

Enjoy your videos but in my opinion your logic is flawed on this topic. Most famous/successful ppl are driven by events from childhood/teenage years. Elon Musk was bullied, Jordan was cut from his HS team, etc… It drove them to be successful. Peggy and Forrest spent time in the Yellowstone area in ’09 and ’10, so he could have easily hid it then w/o her knowing. The bookstore printed an additional 2500 copies the 2nd week after release. I have no idea where the chest is, very well could be in NM but I just wouldn’t rule out any of the search states.

Carter – maybe we covered this already — but do you feel he drove right to the hiding place without actually following the trail that we are following? I see no reason why he wouldn’t if he already knew where it was.

Great Carter C…and FF would likely not travel far after all these years and hope no one will be around to hide the chest…in NM he can know better that no one will be around

There are a couple of BIG HINTS. Forrest Fenns exact words. Giving a state really doesn’t do much to find a 10×10 📦

For a moment there, I thought that you were going to throw the book at the dog. 🙂

Cynthia searched NM for ten years! Get a clue!

im pretty sure your device selected for audio is your computer mic and not your microphone. because you dont sound close to the mic. other option is mic is on wide vs narrow

    Hello Carter,

Strong arguments for NM! Have you seen the AGK video on this topic?

With all the crunching and squeaking, I have an extremely hard time concentrating on what you are saying – so much so that I probably missed a few points. You might consider getting the pup as quiet a chew toy as you can find, and hiding all the other toys well in advance of recording….

You’re a moron. Derivation means to derive something. You meant deviation. Fool. Good luck lol. I bet you go around saying derivation feeling all smart, not knowing you sound like a complete moron.

Excellent points! After reading the book a couple times, first thought would be Yellowstone/Madison River. But you are correct, those were not subtle hints, way to obvious. He was in those places numerous times, but he has only been to the "hidey" spot a couple of times, no more than a few times. I also think the big picture is his legacy and also getting families out into nature and explore. He is accomplishing both. I agree Yellowstone / Madison River, all the beautiful places he describes in the book are a distraction, however he has people getting out there and exploring nature which was one of his main goals. I think his story My War for Me describes his other goal, meaning of life/death, touching other lives/coming to peace with it all, desire to leave his mark in a postive way- his legacy. At the end of that story he says he has come to peace with all of it. I also think there would have been books sold around the country, not just in NM…that makes you go hmmm. You need to show us your puppy, what is his name? Or should we just call him Snickers? 😊

I only go back to the same reason that brought me back to New Mexico after 2 years up north. And it’s pretty logical. Forrest had to be away from Peggy for ‘some period’ of time. Forrest told us she didn’t know when he hid it or where he hid it. Being 79/80 years old I would imagine his family keeps a close eye on him. For him to go somewhere for 5-6 hours is more doable than going away for 2-3 days without any questions. I’d even go as far to say as long as he was home by dinner time — nobody would be the wiser.

Many of your ideas are spot on. Why do you think he changed the game from "somewhere in the mountains North of Santa Fe" to "somewhere in the Rockies up to Canada"?
