Education of Spanish Mines and History

Education of Spanish Mines and History

While the Treasures in America team was out investigating an old known Spanish mine called the Josephine mine in Utah, high in the Uinta Mountains, we decided to show some of the things we found interesting. We do show a couple of the Spanish tree carvings that can be found just a few hundred feet from where the mine entrance used to be before the Forest Service filled in the openings.

The camera followed Steve Shaffer, Timothy Draper, & the rest of the team around as the team talked about the clues that are left behind. We thought this video was a good one to show so everyone can see what we saw. Everyone can see and hear what we talked about and see what equipment we used to verified and that the mine entrances were pinpointed.

Stay tuned for a lot more videos. We are trying our best to make it so everyone can watch our videos to get an idea of what we do and what we see.

I watched this the second I saw the thumbnail. I have a heart carved into a tree just like this. It is not far out in the woods either. Only a short hike in…

That detector (tm 808) may work great in lower mineralization states up north but is completely uselss in the south (CA, AZ, NM).

I also wanted to say thanks for all the information you guys are pretty fortunate
Man that’s a shame I would have thought someone

I have been to many of these sites including the one in this video. Sad they covered it all up. I had been in the first room or opening where the pole ladder went down. Also the big pipe casings when they attempted to drill down. That’s cool that Schafer is still out doing this. I knew one of the guys that helped with the ground scanning to find the cache below. Fun stuff. I would enjoy getting to go out with these guys looking. I’m in Heber and not far away guys. Let me know if you invite others to go along?

I went out on a number of these trips with Steve. He is one of my favorite people I got to know over the years. Thanks for sharing this video!
