Doomed plane carrying footballer Emiliano Sala was 'dodgy', pilot said – BBC News
The pilot of Emiliano Sala’s plane told friends the aircraft was “dodgy” before the flight that killed the Argentine footballer.
Pilot David Ibbotson is heard in audio saying “I’ll be wearing my life jacket” on the journey from France to Wales.
He also revealed the technical difficulties he had experienced with the 35-year-old Piper Malibu plane.
The plane crashed into the English Channel in 2019, killing them both.

What the fuck was he doing even getting on that piece of shit.. the more you find out the more you have to ask yourself how their guts didnt stop them flying that plane. This was literally a couple of years ago so their is no reason to be trying to fly that piece of shit… people just think life has a respawn.
Moral of the story don’t allow yourself to fly a plane that isn’t sky worthy
It’s easy to blame the pilot but also look and the industry. Why did the pilot feel he couldn’t tell his complaints to the company. How was he allowed to fly without proper clearing from the airport and the company who hired him.

My opinion !
As a student pilot currently in academy, the first chapter they had you read in lesson 1 was that no flight should be taken under any circumstance if aircraft or pilot ability are in question. The external pressures are the leading cause of accidents, and a pilot needs to have a strong enough personality to say no to a flight when it’s not safe for passengers or crew, even if it’s high profile.
His gut told him not to board that plane,but money got in the way.

Wow, I’m already terrified of flying on planes as it is… then I watch something like this? I don’t think I ever will fly on a plane in this lifetime. Some ppl tell me to never let fear hold you back, but I think it’s just my gut instinct forewarning me that something will go horribly wrong and I will have no control over my own fate.
That Airline should be held responsible at all cost. Who is the idiot who approved of this flight without first checking system malfunctions. If the pilot
knew in his gut the plane had issues he should of stated that or quit his job if they didn’t care. Mechanics fix problems, the pilot is the one who puts it to the test and he should of had a better idea of how his plane sounds and alerted everyone to wear a life jacket.

One of my best friends from HS went missing in a small plane crash off the coast of Molokai. He had gotten his pilots license, took a day trip over from Oahu then the weather deteriorated when they were getting ready to fly back that evening. He didn’t wanna stay over night so he ended up taking off back to Oahu against his better judgment. That one decision lost him his life. His plane went down and him and his 2 passengers were never seen again. I heard about it on the news the next morning, this was back in 2016
