Discovered Abandoned Mine – Utah

➤ Safety DISCLAIMER➤Don’t do this. Mines are dangerous. Also, life is dangerous.

We passed this lone hiker smoking a cigarette. He made some small talk and then gestured over his shoulder..”you gonna go to the mine”? “what mine?” we said.

Told us, “look for the soda can”. We found it a short ways off the trail.

The entrance was filled in to keep folks out, but previous explorers had managed to clear a small passage. Not sure if it was a silver mine, or other metals/minerals, but was very neat to see in person after watching so many youtube videos of other youtubers exploring abandoned mines and caves.

Next time we’re going deeper!

Be careful in old mines! They can be radioactive and have toxic gas buildups

You too are extremely lucky you are very inexperienced and should probably study up before going into any other mines that smell could’ve killed you. It’s the smells that you cannot smell and mines that would definitely kill you. Caves and mines you need to carry an oxygen meter with you at all times

As much as I don’t condone underground exploration without a helmet, I have done it myself. That being said wanna trade some location’s?

Very lucky boys, no stink damp, no black damp and no rock falls. Let’s see; you are in the western edge of the Colorado plateau, you are in granite and you went down then up. You have no doubt officially received your annual dosage of radon so stay topside for awhile. To sum it up, idiots are lucky!
