The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via Paramount+, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Every night, viewers can expect: Comedy, humor, funny moments, witty interviews, celebrities, famous people, movie stars, bits, humorous celebrities doing bits, funny celebs, big group photos of every star from Hollywood, even the reclusive ones, plus also jokes.
LOL, unarmed people taking selfies in the capital is an "insurection". I seriously doubt that the same people who could not even get Trump out of office are going to convict grandpaw and memaw and buffalo man of "insurection".
As a looong time Colbert fan, I cannot stand this newly-vocal audience. What is this, a children’s play? "Oooooh, the guy we disagree with! Let’s all boo and hiss!"
These people are worse, in this one way at least, than the crowds that go see Trump!
I get it, it’s been a year of not having an audience. They’re amped. They don’t remember how to act. But this is sad. It’s killing me inside to see my people act like such impolite, idiotic sheep. Golly, how can anyone figure out if something Colbert talks about is good or bad, unless there’s cheering or booing?
God I hope this stop. I can hardly believe our wonderful host even abides this! I fondly remember one time he had… I don’t recall, Boehner maybe? Anyway, he had on someone that the crowd wasn’t a huge fan of. Either when he came out to the stage, or after he said something the crowd didn’t like (not a lie, just not liked), the audience started with the booing… Stephen put his hand up and quietly admonished them for being so rude to someone who took the time to go on a show who he knew wasn’t a fan of his.
I miss that. Oh, great, as I write this he seems to be encouraging this behavior.
If nothing else, going from rapid delivery due to quarantine to having to pause 4 times a minute for something other than laughter is… honestly, really lame. Laugh. That’s great. But I do not want to hear a room full of people exerting effort to make sure everyone else knows exactly how they feel about everything the host says.
It’s really quite similar to something you might expect if this was the North Korean or Turkish version of the show. I hate it so much to watch this happen to this show that I love… That I… loved? I don’t want this to be over. I love watching Stephen, and I have ever since he was on The Daily Show, doing Even Steven with Carell.
Seriously, Colbert, and fans… We don’t need yet another blind, frothing mob in this country. Y’all are better than this.
