Well at least the mystery has been long solved, and to everyone’s disappointment… No there has never been a civilization even close to as advanced as us, at least on Earth. We have geological records to show that there has never been any mining on minerals that take billions of years to form until a few hundred years ago and these minerals are what we use in many metals and electrical components (Higher technology). We also have technology that can detect the changes of co2 concentration in the atmosphere from billions of years ago and until the Industrial Revolution there has never been a spike even close to what we started in the co2 concentration so no civilization used any combustion engines or machines in the past. We also know that no civilization used nuclear energy in the past because that would leave very obvious traces for millions of years. So could a civilization really have dodged using any kind of modern technologies, metals and minerals, nuclear power, any large scale combustion, and still been more advanced than us without all of that? Possibly, but not realistic so gotta be realistic here and say no.

The issue is, while they completely understood the idea, they could only execute the idea at a small scale. They either lacked the manufacturing capability to make this at a human sized scale, or, they had no use for flight beyond toys. Just like we don’t need tractor trailers that transform into massive sentient robots. Even though it’d be hella cool.

My best theory is that the Mayan’s actually traveled to Egypt, long text but I think the Mayan’s traveled there to spread their knowledge but the knowledge was too great that the Egyptian’s had to hid it from their people, also it makes sense that they might’ve gave them knowledge on how to build the Pyramid’s.
