The gold and platinum nuggets in this video were found in the hills of northern California during many prospecting adventures in many different areas. We take a look as some of these finds and where the gold was found, along with some background into each discovery. Gold is not easy to find by any means, it takes years of dedication and looking in the right places along with a little luck and much hard work to locate finds like these, but sometimes it’s purely luck! Absolutely amazing brother . I’ve been out fighting wild fires for most of the 2020 fire season which has just ended I meet a good brother on these fires and told him when the season is over I’m headed out to go prospecting for a vacation
He told me I should come find him in Georgetown . So naturally I excepted the invite me and the family are headed up there today to relax and do some panning. So I’m doing me (research) and found your channel! Thank you for sharing this was an amazing video and one could only hope to have enough time in life to get out and make this an amazing hobby . I’m originally a stacker and have a small channel in an amazing community on YouTube. But prospecting is in my blood and my passion today will be my first major prospecting outing .

Anybody know what a platinum nugget will ring up on a whites dfx. I mean the vdi numbers. I think i found a platinum nugget because I took a propane torch to a nugget I found and it glowed red but didn’t melt

One of the best vids I have seen on this subject. Especially the locations. I have prospected this area for 12 years but quit 20 years ago as my life changed. Now I have time again to get back into it. Sounds like a metal detector is the way to go. I was doing some sniping but did not find anywhere near the size of gold you guys are. But my largest piece interestingly did come from an area out of Georgetown.

dude I love gold hunting, only ever found one piece though. Was hunting a area that was heavily mined by the forty niners. Just outside of Plymouth and found a quartz vain where the miners had moved all the overburden. I detected around a bit and long story short got myself a 14 gram nugget. That reef gold you found was a very pretty piece though.

Grew up in auburn,ca. Migrated to Nevada city. Does my heart good to see these rivers as I’ve since migrated to somewhere else. Always rivers with gold in them. I remember skinny dipping south fork of the yuba and that guy ruined everybody’s summer with his constant dredge. Years later I find out that guy pulled our 80,000 dollars when gold spot was about 269 an oz! That’s when laws about dredging came about and he couldn’t ruin my blissfull silence. Nowadays it’s not worth the dip as theres too many people on the river. A playground,circus atmosphere.

I love your videos and recently moved to California. I want to try panning for gold and your info is valuable. I live in Eureka and I think the closest rivers are the Trinity & Klamath Rivers. I hope the Gold Prospectors Association has info on these rivers.
Nice video Jerry. I hope one day to get out there for a little prospecting vacation. Being from Maine, I would be spoiled with the gold out there. There’s gold here but extremely sparse. You get more in a average test pan than most here get in a wknd of hard labor. I enjoy your videos and hope you keep making them.

to bad you cant dredge. dumb city-idiots laws dredging makes deep hole the fish hide in and gets trash out of the rivers
My best find was 32 penny weight. 20 penny weight to the ounce. Found many half ounce nuggets.

I found lots of gold till the Democrats banned gold dredging just for a short time. Has now been 12 years. Democrats ban everything that is good for you.
