Good for them. If I would found those here in Finland, our natioanal department of museums would seize the coins and I would not receive one cent from the find.
This shows the great quality of gold. They were buried in a rusted can for over a hundred years, but they appear absolutely mint. Any other coin would be badly rusted and corroded, but not gold. It’s like it didn’t age at all.
I would just have kept my mouth shut. In no time they will have an unexpected visit from Uncle Sam.
