    I still don’t get that.  Isn’t that just a smaller 4d space?

  2. STEFAN BADARA on November 24, 2021 at 10:42 am

I think that the space is a calculation done by consciousness in order to interpret the data that comes into it. It is a mathematical function defined by the (LCS) consciousness system. Scientists are expecting to see the edge of the Universe and they will never find it because is all virtual and it generates itself as long as you stare at it.

    Humanity is too fideistic.

Definition of FIDEISM: reliance on faith rather than reason in pursuit of religious truth

  4. Jennifer Cuddy on November 24, 2021 at 10:45 am

I think a genuine religion is one that has to do with the why we ask the why of things. And then there is the question of life after death and that fear of death or to have that sense of peace in the face of it.

As a scientist also, I would agree with you EXCEPT for one thing…along came a series of events 2,000 yrs ago supporting our "NEW" quantum theories, entanglement/string, etc. d’jour. I’ve studied this Jesus of Nazareth historicity, testimonies(even by His enemies), & archaeological support for 10 yrs. I have no doubt this rebel changed the world by actual supernatural events & fulfilling old prophecy. See Dr. Gisins’ experiments in Geneva with photons "magically" coordinated even 100 mi. apart.

As far as Jesus never existing that’s the biggest new age lie to sell books. Almost ALL REAL biblical scholars, historians, archaeologists agree that of course He existed. The ONLY debate was of His divinity. The San Hedrin & other pro-Roman ones that hated His messages against their wealth & power claimed that he did miracles, but they were "sorcery". Even atheistic book sellers like Ehrman admit He was very real. Please research un-biased. See all the new archaeological discoveries too. Adios!

    @WBenny74
Why are theologians that believe in scriptures enjoining them to not think (literally in the bible) commenting on "BIG THINK" videos?
I’m not limiting anyone’s freedom of expression but it should be obvious that promulgating such contradictory views in a scientific sphere will start an argument.

  16. Matthew Bendyna on November 24, 2021 at 11:00 am

Well, of course no one dared question his existence before. Even now, the Church holds much sway over politics and public thought. I am not searching unbiased and have seen many arguments such as yours. The Church ruled the European world for a Millenia and the thought of questioning the existence of Jesus was unthinkable to most. Even many atheists wouldn’t think to ask the question ore don’t out of fear of how the irrational religious majority might react.

Time is an effect of mass or matter. Time is the 4th dimension of space time based on simple velocity and distances in 3 dimensional space. To use mental memory perception of time and combine it with atomic mass/time is pseudo science and deception. It allows for many ridiculous alternative theories. We have only just started to incorporate dark matter, energy and flow into the mix, so to run wild without fully understanding these is nothing but a mathematical game.

Either talk or play music, but not both.

  20. STEFAN BADARA on November 24, 2021 at 11:02 am

All protons, neutrons, electrons are just probability distributions existing in superposition and we as conscious beings we collapse the wave functions of all virtual particles into 3D solid reality (as solid particles). We are doing it and all conscious beings as a collective we agree to it. It’s crazy I know but more and more digital physics and metaphysics tells us that fact. At the base of reality there no stuff per say. At tiny levels the reality is just information. Listen Jim Elvidge

  21. NUKE on November 24, 2021 at 11:03 am

    Please I have a question.
Q: All my life I was let to believe that Einstein’s theory or Relativity (General and Special) are talking about a 4 dimensional spacetime. (3 dimensions of space and one for time). Why is Brian saying that Einstein never thought of a 4 dimensional space (or spacetime as we liked to call it)?

Also. I think that time can indeed be a dimensional of space. If for example a 2 dimensional object is traveling in his 2 dimensional space but also "falling" in a 3 dimensional space at the same time. Then to that object’s perspective, something he will call "time" is starting to emerge. It cannot see it’s own falling, because it cannot "see" in 3 dimensional. Therefore it assumes that it’s stationary (where it’s not) and "time" seems to "pass by" where in reality there is no "time" and it is really NOT stationary at all. Scale that up a dimention and you have the same example for our 3d world and our "perception" of "time".

Listen to Thomas Campbell too on metaphysics with his My Big T.O.E. (theory of everything)
What exist beyond religions, science and all human speculations, what is the true reality? Is consciousness…that works with symbols and meaning. And the best body of work that defines it is METAPHYSICS

  28. ProjectsBlack on November 24, 2021 at 11:15 am

Space time or its fabric as we know warps with a matter wave in it. It could be the counteracting effect of gravity pushing back on the wave that holds physical reality or matter in place. Also dark matter could play a part as to how matter can be made and sustained. As for consciousness creating reality by collapsing the wave, it would point towards a computer program again. Time is one directional, in two directions it would point to reality being some sort of computer program.

  29. Robin Gardner on November 24, 2021 at 11:16 am

This talk of Brian Greene sounds a lot like religion or any magical "hallelulja stuff". String theory is probably right when considering that there must be some matter that is so small that cant any longer be divided. The smallest things of all in the universe. It’s a decent theroy, or a thesis rather… Humans used to think that atoms where smallest but now we know "with-hard-proof" that atmos are not the smallest part in the World. That atoms can be split into even smaller parts and when that happens it releses a lot of energy, hence the atom bomb. But saying that there are several dimensions we cant see and cant prove to exist sounds a lot like some kind of dogmatic religious belief… Why should we Believe this? Thats the problem he needs to address…

  30. Matthew Bendyna on November 24, 2021 at 11:16 am

The fact of the matter is that there really isn’t enough evidence to say concisely that he did. He may have been a real man, but there is presently no way to know.

    Crappy CGI.

  32. STEFAN BADARA on November 24, 2021 at 11:19 am

Same thing happens at small scales with the higgs bosons. They will never find it because “matter” generates itself at the smaller levels too and you always find something when you look at it because we collapse the wave functions into 3D reality. Consciousness is the computer.

  33. GoodyBob on November 24, 2021 at 11:19 am

Not true at all…yes the old horrible pagan Roman catholic church controlled much, but everything you said is wrong. People have debated the the historicity for 2000 yrs. & you know what…almost all agree He was for real with only doubts being the Divinity questioned. You are so anti-Xtian biased that you’ve blocked all of PROVEN history including that ridiculous remark of the Library of Alexandria. I rest my case. Bye!

it is amazing what our species understands when it comes to the universe. 80 years ago we thought the universe was static and we were the only galaxy. 15 years ago we realized the universe was accelerating. where will we be in another 80 years?

  41. Matthew Bendyna on November 24, 2021 at 11:24 am

Oh yeah, forgot to add something. Historical documents can be forged or miscopied. History is easily rewritten, so don’t try to use that as evidence. Much history from before the Middle Ages was destroyed in the Library of Alexandria thanks to Roman Catholicism, and they seem to have a bad habit of covering up and rewriting historical facts to suit their doctrine.

  42. Matthew Leitch on November 24, 2021 at 11:25 am

A fourth dimension of location that’s tiny and curled up? No, I don’t think that makes any sense. Not literally. They would be curled up in a space where locations can be specified with three dimensions. What other explanations are there (so far) and are any of them more sensible than this one? Also, I wish he had explained a bit more about why the maths works when an extra dimension is added and why some people think that this extra dimension has to be one of location, and not some other property. Finally, I would have to qualify the word ‘fruitful’ when applied to this idea. Can it ever be ‘fruitful’ to assume something that is not true and then deduce things from it?

  45. Rick O'Banion on November 24, 2021 at 11:29 am

A few years ago, I was taking a medication for an illness. One of the side effects was ‘visual disturbances’. What I ended up seeing can be described thusly…Imagine you sweep your hand in front of you, left to right. A person sees that as one moment. But I was seeing the starting position of your hand and the finishing position simultaneously. As well there would be images of your hand in the moments in between, like time-lapse photography. It felt as though I could see in a different measure of time. I read on a few journals that this may be how we actually see things, but our brain has a different ‘frame rate’ (if you pardon the video analogy) and processes the visual information into what we know as normal.

  46. GoodyBob on November 24, 2021 at 11:31 am

Then friend you haven’t researched much other than Great Randi(old news) & the new-age-atheist you-tuber & zietgeist(mindheist) book of the month club trash. I’ve debated all those topics for years & especially the epic fail writers that claim Nazareth/Jesus didn’t exist. Yawn. Nazareth existed before/during Jesus with about 350-450 people. It had a stone quarry, wine press, farm terraces, stone irrigation channels, 5 watchtowers, & pottery shards dating to the 1st century at the time of Jesus..

  47. Matthew Bendyna on November 24, 2021 at 11:32 am

Of course people agree that Jesus existed. After all, to question it would bring about outrage. Anyway, I’m not saying that the man never existed, I’m only saying that there is no evidence that he did. He may have existed. Anyway, I don’t even no what Xtian means. Some Christian denomination?

The use of silly cartoonish bits have no relationship with the ideas discussed. Pew36 animation Studios you suck at 3d animation! .

  49. Matthew Bendyna on November 24, 2021 at 11:40 am

Really? From what I have researched in terms of archaeology, there is actually no compelling evidence that I have seen that this man even existed. In fact, it seems that the oldest of the man-made objects in the town of Nazareth date to less than 2000 years. You can get more on this from James Randi on a video called "questioning the Bible". I will look into the experiments you mentioned, but something that baffles us at first just requires us to look for a better explanation, not magic.
