One of my favorite places in AZ, Sedona. Next time your there check out Sliderock. That looked like a Gopher snake. They are commonly confused with rattlesnakes.

Next Time you are in Sedona, go to West Fork Canyon, Sedona. As a young man in 1970, and before a lot of people knew about West Fork we used to camp out on the trail. Summer and winter, before someone burned down the lodge, at the lodge had a built swimming pool into the rock. Great hike. Azdesert, now in Florida.
