Almaden Quicksilver – Historic Trail Hike | Exploring San Jose's Mining Past
In this short, follow me on this historic hike as we explore San Jose’s mining past. The trail takes us across broken mining equipment, an old abandoned mine, and some strange crashed cars.
Very well done video hope to see more
The cars rolled down the hill
and the recycling process begans
The earth reclaims the materials
Sweet brother awesome video 🤩
could you share your route map for that hike? I’ve been to all of the places you mentioned in the first half but I also want to check out the mining tunnel, smokestack and dynamite storage room. Thanks!
Very informative video. Very well recorded 👌👌
Thank you so much for making this informative video. Very well done!
I live in San Jose so I gotta check this place out.. I guess I’m 2 years late but better late than never
I lived there in the 70’s and 80’s and those cars were decades old way back then. So they are probably 1930’s or 1940’s cars.
2002 is a model not the year lmfaooo
Cool hike! Thanks for sharing! I liked and subscribed. Please check out my channel and consider subscribing?
How did you not laugh saying “Harry shaft”
wonderful coverage! Thanks so much!
Would you or anyone else happen to know if this trail would be considered safe for medium sized dogs? I’ve been looking for a nice trail to get out of the house .
Damm I was their literally 4 days ago
I was born and raised in New Almaden. I’ve been on those trails many times with my horse. I miss living there. Great video.
Very educational and such a beautiful video! I actually stopped by here earlier this morning today. I didn’t do the full round cause I was afraid of all the wildlife sounds🤪 (I mean I love the sounds of nature and I know it’s a crazy thing to say since hiking does involves them) but I think I was mostly afraid cause I was hiking alone and the thought of the animals coming after me by myself is scary 😅 This was the first time in a long time since I’ve went hiking. I use to go with a group of my friends but our schedules our different now. I just love how therapeutic it can be just taking in all the fresh air and nature (minus animals possibly coming after me😂) I’m glad you shared this video! Question. Do you go alone? What time do you usually go and what things do you bring to prepare? Thanks 🙏🏼 😄
Can you make a video about how you shoot videos and do editing? Thank you!
Fantastic video and channel! I also have a hiking channel called Trails We Hike, and we also went out to Almaden Quicksilver this season. I really appreciate the time you put into research and sharing it with us. I learned more about Almaden Quicksilver watching your video than I did making mine 🙂 Going to check out your Zion video now as we just recorded an episode there a couple weeks ago.
I’ve done some hiking there.
Thanks for the informative video ! I’m going there to do a bioblitz next month.
My family was the one who lent the land to the mine. My seventh great grandfather was Nicolas Antoino Berryessa was basque and his correct name was Berrelleza and the land grant was called Rancho San Vicente and Los Capitancillos !
Lived here since 1976, I used to climb up the steep hills and look at the sealed up mines.
Great vid, nice editing, good sound edits. Good content.
This is one of my favorite places to hike in San Jose! Great video! I hope you continue on with your channel. =)
I spent many beautiful days on the trails of the Almaden Quicksilver and this video brought back many fond memories. Very well made and I enjoyed the music too. Thank you.

Hey! Another great video. I’m the guy from GA. Headed out to San Jose tomorrow and either going to hike quicksilver or mission peak. Do you think I will have any issues getting a Lyft to come and pick me up once finished hiking on a Sunday early evening?
