One ex-fighter pilot and art dealer from Santa Fe, New Mexico, wanted to inspire a little hope for people during an economic rough patch in the country. So, naturally, he hid insane wealth somewhere in one of America’s largest mountain ranges. The problem? He gave just one cryptic clue about its location…

I drove a long way from My Old Kentucky Home to follow the path that the poem had led me down.
I ended up in Gardiner, MT. I spent sometime at the Yellowstone Hostel, from there I searched high and low.
I felt an amazing sense of exuberance when the clues began to match my theory. Ultimately, I did not find the treasure, but I do believe I was close! I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. I met some amazing people, had a delicious burger at the Two Bit Saloon, and got to explore a landscape that seemed a world away from where I live. I appreciate Mr. Fenn’s initiative to give hope to anyone with an adventurous spirit!
I am not wealthy, by any means, and it is doubtful that I will ever take a second trip to search for the treasure. So, if you are reading this and considering having a look for yourself, you may want to take peak at a map of that little town just outside of Yellowstone’s Northern gate. Good luck in search of the Blaze and mention me when you become famous!

I don’t think it’s in the Rockies. I spent some time studying the poem which led me to spending a few months in northern New Mexico. I think its somewhere around the Rio Grande Gorge.

Lol told everybody he hid some treasure….. and then wrote a book saying there were clues in it and sold it.. hahahaa what a smart man he probably made Millions👍👍

Treasure is in Pueblo ruins, which happened to be his property, where he was previously stealing Pueblo artifacts.
