34 Million Dollar Gold Mine in California, The Kennedy Mine Surface Tour!

34 Million Dollar Gold Mine in California, The Kennedy Mine Surface Tour!

34 Million dollars worth of gold was taken from the earth at the Kennedy Gold Mine.

It was one of the deepest gold mines of all time, and is now a tourist attraction where you can take surface tours and learn about everything above ground that turned these tunnels and caves into one of the most lucrative gold mines in the entire gold rush.

The Kennedy Gold Mine was right in the heart of The Mother Lode, which was the vein of gold that basically started the California Gold Rush.

Learn some history about mining, the Gold Rush and Gold Country in this episode!

Youtube tries to automatically change “The Somethin’ Or Other Tour” to “The Something Or Other Tour” making it harder to find in searches. I’m writing this to try and fix that.

You might want to learn what tailings are there not sludge. Tailings are the excess rock after the gold is extracted and the non ore bering rock. It was moved away from the mine so it doesn’t get in the way .but typical California propaganda.

I live in the area and consider myself a modern day Dora the Explorer. I throw on a backpack and discover interesting things or places just about every time I go out. The other day I discovered an old gold mine on the property next to mine and am going back to have a better look around today or tomorrow . I’m into exploring so ya I find your videos interesting . Helps that you’re super easy on the eyes too 😘

I don’t know why being able to push a real minecart makes me want to do it so much.

As a teacher, I really appreciate the fact that our guide does not use profanity and keeps the video log entertaining. There’s so many interesting video tours to see in our state, but oftentimes, I can’t share them with my students because few people seem to consider that children might be watching. Again, then, thank you so much for producing a family- and classroom-friendly video.
