Hello fellow gpaa member my family and I work that same claim very often. We live in northern new Mexico in chama. What we have figured out on that claim is the gold gets better closer to the lake . We were just over that way yesterday and there’s still to much snow but it won’t be long. But maybe we can exchange numbers or something and meet up out there sometime.
where are you from? im from albuquerque and been wanting to try panning even using a sluice box. what do you need as far as permits? ill be willing to help you on them 2- 3 man operations
Ditto to southern oregon prospector, GPAA member for one year, just re-upped and panning is to tedious for me, I like the small setup you have; would be perfect. However the claims within an hour drive don’t allow anything but hand sluice/panning; hummm, I feel a cough coming on may have to take them sick days after all.

Nice setup! I just became a GPAA member myself, so it’s nice to see some people working their claims. And you’ll need to find another person who suffers from gold fever like us, if you want some help out there, lol! Regular folks just don’t get it 🙂
I just want to let you know, you would catch more if you either had a flare at the beginning or the end to slow down the inlet or outlet, your water is moving to fast for the size gold your getting. A few tweaks and i bet you recover 3 times as much.

Kayaker from taos, I know a place we can take your dredge that no one has ever dredged before…. test pans with lentil size Placer flakes…..
You might want to check your tailings that water was blowing out hot 🔥
