1800's Ghost Town – Henson, Colorado – I found the mines
1800's Ghost Town – Henson, Colorado – I found the mines
Henson is a late 1800’s mining town that has been preserved and protected. It sits just over 9000 ft in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. BTW I never made it to the other town that I mention in the end of this video.

This was so cool
you are polite…
that’s such a awesome place
It’s a pump house I kept yelling at you trying to tell you, then realizing that it’s youtube and that I’m also really high.
That looks an awful lot like a red belly Ford hood and engine at the first of the video.
This video is mislabeled. A true ghost town is inhabited only by ghosts, no one living there. If 12 families are living in Henson town it is NOT a ghost town. A semi-ghost would be a few people or families living amongst mostly abandoned structures, but I’m not sure if Henson would even qualify as such. Proper title for this vid would be simply Exploring Ruins of 1800’s Mining Camp.
I live 45 minutes away from there. Very beautiful place good fishing. Its called red mountain pass in Colorado
Reminds me of the movie "Silent Hill". Very cool place.
There’s gold there
If you imagine the water being backed up behind the dam that little building that looked like an outhouse makes sense. They probably only had to pump it up a little ways to get water.
That’s a big Damn hole 😅🤣
That’s why the Indians were sensible because they moved with the seasons
You need to look up "Ghost Town Living" He’s pretty awesome too. I’m a new sub to you both.
SO WHO OWNS THIS ABANDONED AREA
That is one big dam hole. Good vid!
Trying to catch up on your older videos, and am enjoying them very much. You sounded pooped out. Loved all the old buildings, won’t be long until they are gone. That building sitting up on the side of the dam was not a outhouse, even back then they would not have wanted the water contaminated, and they would not put one on the side like that. Maybe as suggested from some one else here, a way to get water up. Your learning though, we never quit learning. Have a good one.
You’re young. And the way you are breathing, there’s no way I could do that anymore. I used to, and loved it. Thanks for the videos. BTW, I did notice a camera mounted on that first (I think first) water tank you went around. Who knows if they are functional, or simply deterrence, but I’m pretty sure I saw a couple. Love your channel. I’m spending too much time watching your videos instead of working. 😂
As friend of mine dropped his vehicle accidentally through a old air shaft , was going along the road and plump it just dropped into the road about 8 feet straight down nose first , they got put through the rear window I here the roads are filled with these pits throughout colorado mining towns ..
Holy shit anyone else hear his heart beating from 7:19 onward?? Wth sounded like it was gonna explode lol! That must’ve been a heck of a hike!
Really cool
Those chipmunks are freaking awesome. I used to paint huge mansions in old nc with these amazing landscapes and chipmunks everywhere
Next time you are in Colorado, I would love to show you our active mineral and crystal mines! We mine amazonite, smokey quartz crystals, fluorite, and many other minerals for gems and jewelry. Would make for a cool video, I’m sure. Hit me up next time you’re around! Love what you do, Chris! So entertaining.
That dam looks paper thin
I love your channel I think you would have way more subscribers if you would change the name of your channel

I tell everyone to invest in silver because it is way way undervalued nowadays due to big bank price manipulation….if they ever let silver go to its true value, silver could go into the hundreds per ounce.
Very Good Video – I Was In Colorado In 1978 , Hasn’t Changed a Bit .. Beautiful , Of Course Now High Definition , Much Better
PLANET X IS CALLED WORMWOOD IN THE HOLY BIBLE PLANET X 😟 THE EARTH DESTROYER IS HEADING TO EARTH🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠
Um um uh….
2:07… looks like the front end of a Ford Tractor, my Older brother has 1,from the 50’s or early 60’s, I think
so cool
Still, trying to figure out who and how they had the equipment, electricity, all the things they needed before we "supposedly" had any of those things.
you guys who make these videos should be be commended for the work you do well done.cheers from australia.
I have gotten altitude sickness by staying the night at a place that was at 9000′. But going to old mine sites and mining ghost towns is one of my favorite things to do! 😁⚒️👻
oh, my goodness! it’s the wee hours of the morning and i have come to your excellent channel seeking respite from the terrors of my own Christmas past and there you are: educating us about the horrifically difficult lives of the miners and the gross unfairness with which they were treated by the mine owners who got filthy rich off of their labours……..well, there went my self pity!
as you know, before we had the mass media with which we share our truths and our etc, we had an amazing medium called folk music, carried from town to town by artists called bards who sang songs, recited poems and repeated our oral histories with often amazing accuracy and raw emotion. there is a delightful couple of mudlarks who have a YouTube channel called "Let’s Go With The Johnsons"……. they live in Wales where many a colliery was dug, and they lark (beachcomb) inland waterways (where towns have dumped garbage for centuries) bringing the past to life with amazing odds and ends and bitsy pieces. Phil is a retired miner and he’s an excellent historian, and he relays the deep dark histories of the welch mines……and that is indeed a rescued stuffed panda bear in his pocket!
a great standard of folk singers is "The Bells of Rhymney", written by Idrys Davies ( aka the Rhymney Poet) about the plight of the miner. "The Bells of Rhymney" really nails it and was put to music by Pete Seeger, arguably americas greatest folk singer, who sang it ever so powerfully. please excuse the length of this missive, our histories shouldn’t be allowed to die, and i thank you for your efforts in that regard
I’ve never been to Colorado did your ears pop at when you’re walking around there
😏 Life above 9,000 feet. You need to keep nut bars for the chipmunks and donkeys
Maybe a outhouse EVERYTHING would drop right into the creek 🤣 GUY FISHING DOWN STREAM " I GOT ONE " 😆👍 GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS…MAN THE AIR IS THIN UP THERE HUH FROM THE WAY YOUR BREATHING PLUS YOUR GETTING A GOOD CARDIO WORKOUT. NICE JOB BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN’S. 😎
I would be JUST as out of breath, but it would be worth the heart attack lol
Thanks for the view, you sounded out of breath. Don’t get me wrong I would be breathing hard as well. Be careful.
For some reason, it reminds me of the camp in Pale Rider.
That’s a big Damn hole 😅🤣
Go to Creede Colorado; there are a lot of old mines.
❤️
I noticed that building you thought was an Out House, it looked like it had an electric switch on the wall inside. You were breathing pretty heavy. Thanks for all the walking, we can see how you keep in shape. Great video, as usual. Take care, Chris.
What’s been your biggest wtf moment?
Beautiful place
Stay safe
I think they made outhouses over streams illegal in the 1920s
