#178 Abandoned Gold Camp USA #7 Arizona

We find an abandoned Gold Camp not visited in many years far off of the beaten path in the desert. It still has operating equipment, clothing and even food! Check out Glys channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU7kKUhwDj8jTbJHI8GL21A

How abandoned is it when a guys things are still there are recent? Did it become abandoned when he quit paying his taxes on the land?

  5. Jeff Brooks on May 25, 2020 at 5:54 pm

    I find Gly irritating.

  6. Edwin Edgerly on May 25, 2020 at 5:56 pm

That mine is not abandoned. There are six claims in the area… all are marked along with the contact info… It is my families mine… and you are well past the gate and signs. We have had lots of trouble with people breaking in and stealing equipment. I would appreciate it if you could take this video down as you are leading people to believe that this is all abandoned equipment up for grabs…

You certainly weren’t kidding about the rough road, steep and loose. My jeep got a little tipsy on that rock outcrop.

  9. YouTube Watcher on May 25, 2020 at 5:58 pm

Love that you give privacy and anonymous locations. I’m sure anyone that put in the work could find it. I sure won’t. Better you than me. Stay safe, and keep on documenting for everyone. šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ‘

That aggressive bumble bee at 8:07 is clearly protecting his territory. Cracks me up every time I re-watch that monster come out of nowhere and attack your nose. LOL!

  11. john perry on May 25, 2020 at 6:02 pm

if there digging straight down how did they get all of that stuff out and why did they go straight down, and why do you call going in an addit and not an entrance or a stoke instead of a tunnel

  16. jeepejeep on May 25, 2020 at 6:05 pm

I really like the opening shots with the drone.
It’s really amazing that all that stuff is there, it looks like he was there a week before you were there. That equipment was cool but don’t piss off the bees! HAHA! I think you’re part gopher, Frank. Watch out for the killer crickets!
    A short but cool mine.
That was a deep shaft that didn’t go anywhere. Oh well ya don’t know ’till ya get down there.

    Can you contact me 692 461 9939

  26. Ken Johnson on May 25, 2020 at 6:14 pm

Wow, must be very dangerous in Arizona to have to carry that heavy gun. Wouldn’t it be easier to carry, say an M n P 9mm shield?
I am lucky to get to explore all the amazing mines in SoCal, where we don’t need to carry guns. Don’t get me wrong, I like guns, but i don’t need to carry one in a mine or hiking. I mean damn, if a guy is gunna get me out in the desert, he’s there to get me, gun or not.

  27. Brandon Wright on May 25, 2020 at 6:14 pm

    How long was that centipede?

What a great set up! If I had the money to fix that place up and a partner to help and to keep company I’d start that place up!

  41. MannyScoots on May 25, 2020 at 6:34 pm

Zinsco or Zinsco-Sylvania is the name given to a brand of electrical panel that was commonly installed up to the mid-1970ā€™s. Emile Zinsmeyer, founder of what later became Zinsco Electric, was employed at Frank Adam’s retail sales, moving to California in the 1920’s to operate Frank Adams business there.

Zinsmeyer purchased Adams’ stock in California in 1929, founding Zinsmeyer Co. with family members and continuing to operate in California. So I would estimate the mine was operated from 1929 to 1979 or somewhere in that area …. Possibly 50 years or so …..

  42. jdcrowe82 on May 25, 2020 at 6:35 pm

It looks like that miner had a good operation, but a poor place to use it. Gotta love his determination though. Great video Frank!!!!!!! You guys work good together!!!!!!!

  43. Nephi Silver on May 25, 2020 at 6:36 pm

  44. Richard Baumeister on May 25, 2020 at 6:37 pm

  45. Jeff Holden on May 25, 2020 at 6:39 pm

    Awesome fun.

  46. Richard Baumeister on May 25, 2020 at 6:41 pm

Tell Gly he needs to snap his holster. I would hate to see him drop his sidearm down a deep hole

  47. Richard Baumeister on May 25, 2020 at 6:44 pm

Look for a collapse and you may find the remains of the old guy

  48. Paula S on May 25, 2020 at 6:45 pm

Where do u find s map with Arizona abandoned mines?

  49. dabprod on May 25, 2020 at 6:45 pm

People get old, worn out. Health problems, injuries. Leave the mine for a time, thinking they will return after a while but circumstances prevent it. Lot of time and effort put into that operation, I hope it was worth it to the owner. Thanks for a great video adventure.

We have found similar spots in the Arizona Desert, looked like they just walked away and left everything… Who knows the real story eh?
